Description:
Always pretty, always clean, very uncomplicated beautiful and personal mare. Easily maintains nice body weight with a shiny healthy coat and a thick long tail. Correct conformation. Uphill with a big girl trot- good rhythm, plenty of push and activity. Solid dressage horse for an amateur. Joy has the ability and movement to train and compete into the upper levels. Her super mind makes her a natural candidate for eventing or cross country. She has had no colic, lameness or complications from birth to date.
History:
Joy was one of our first offspring here at Hidden Promise Sporthorses. She is by our beloved late stallion *Nico (Friesian, Dutch Warmblood dressage stallion) and out of a TB mare who was a solid minded polo horse with a warmblood trot. We sold Joy to a family in NC for a young girl to ride and show which she did successfully to 2nd level. Now in college...Joy needs a new partner. Having maintained a relationship over the years they called and asked if Joy could return to the farm for training to get fit and ready for her sale.
Training:
Upon arrival Joy was beautiful, pleasant and uncomplicated. She didn't mind where or with whom she was put. There were no issues entering the herd. She has been in full classical dressage training since July after having a year or two vacation:) She is now fit with a super solid foundation, ready for any age or level rider. She has developed self carriage, solid transitions and lateral movements. The video was taken before winter fuzz. It shows her super brain and trainability. Since then she is stronger and able to show more expression at the trot and a more uphill frame at the canter (at liberty she has an expressive trot with excellent hock activity and engagement; we are starting to see promise of that under saddle). She is doing half pass, shoulder in, turn on the haunches/forehand, counter canter, simple changes, confident and quiet transitions. Lindsey, the gal riding her in the video, is 5'11" tall. Joy is an honest 15.3 plus a tiny:) I rode her myself (as a test sale ride) and thoroughly enjoyed her. She was push button, responsive to the leg, light in the mouth and obedient... simply did all that I asked of her.
Contact Us:
Go to nicopintostallion.com to see her sire and siblings. Please feel welcome to visit Joy and see the quality of horse that she is. Her training is solid and she is a pleasure to ride. She is priced very reasonably to encourage a sale to a new home. This is a lot of quality and potential for the money. We are hoping to attract a loving partner that can enjoy all that Joy has to offer.
