Chestnut gelding with three solid gates and a powerful hind leg. On the ground he is a joy to work with – he is patient, sweet, and has a puppy-dog like personality. Under saddle, he is always willing and has a wonderful work-ethic. He is sensitive without being hot, always sensible, and never spooky. He would be ideal for an adult amateur in a solid program, but is fancy enough for a professional. Junius is currently in a professional dressage training program and is showing talent for the upper level movements. He has a green flying change, has begun learning half-steps, and has been introduced to the double bridle. With his impressive breeding, Junius is surely an FEI level prospect.
Junius’ sire Blue Hors Zack has numerous international placings and victories including his 10th place finish in the International Grand Prix at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon, NC where he took home the top score for the Danish National Team. Since then, he took home 7th place at the 2018 world cup final in Paris, 4th in the 2019 world cup final Gothenburg, and 1st in the 2019 Danish dressage championship. Zack impressively finished the FEI 2019 competition year ranked at number 6 in dressage, making him the world’s highest ranking stallion in dressage.
Junius’ damsire Junior STV rose to stardom under Anky Van Grunsven as a young stallion. The pair won the Pavo Cup Dutch Young Horse Championships two years in a row and then quickly moved up to Grand Prix level. Junior STV’s damsire Variant was successfully competed at the international FEI level and is also the damsire to world-renowned competition and breeding stallion Negro.
Junius is up to date on vet/farrier and has baseline X-Rays available. He is currently located near Tryon, NC. Contact Lucille Sullivan at (631)252-3687 at [email protected] for more information.
