If you are looking for a super athletic, talented mare who is small in stature, then look no further!!! Kate is an amazing mover in a little package. She is just under 15 hands, but makes up for her small stature with her big movement..... She would make a wonderful partner for an amateur rider or pony clubber. By nature, she is pretty confident. When faced with something new, she may be skeptical at first, but once she accepts it, then she's good with it thereafter. She was recently started by an amazing horseman, Dave Weaver. He has started quite a few horses and says that she is one of the most athletic ones he's ever started, never crossfiring or missing a lead. She's quite naturally balanced and has been all her life. She currently lives in a herd setting. She has been barefoot all her life and has beautifully balanced healthy feet. She clips, ties, loads, is good with the farrier etc.
Although she was started a few years ago, she has not been currently under saddle and will need a "restart" before being ridden. She would be best in a program where she is ridden regularly. I had planned to keep this talented horse for myself, but my lifestyle ( very busy with only intermittent time for playing with my horses) doesn't work well with a horse of her nature. Consistency is what she thrives on....
Kate would be a great partner for someone looking to do dressage or eventing. She has an amazing jump in her, in addition to her wonderful lofty movement.
She comes from old and proven bloodstock.
Her sire is Sandro Hit: Since 2012, Sandro Hit has been ranked amongst the top ten best dressage sires in the world. Since 2017, he is in second place of the WBFSH ranking of the most successful dressage stallions. He has produced 190 licensed stallions in Germany alone, which is far more than any other sire has ever been able to produce. The descendants of Sandro Hit have long since conquered the biggest championship stages around the globe. Five of them competed at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio/BRA, including Showtime FRH/Dorothee Schneider, who became team gold medallist and came sixth in the freestyle, and Santano II/Christopher Burton/AUS, eventing team bronze medallist. In 2018, Salvino/Adrienne Lyle was part of the USA dressage silver team at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon/USA. Sir Donnerhall II OLD/Morgan Barbarcon/ESP were placed in the World Cup final in Paris/FRA. Selten HW/Andres Dahl was part of the Danish team that was placed at the Olympic Games in 2016 and at the World Equestrian Games in 2018.
Her dam Tatiana, is a dutch mare by Ijsselmeer Ikopono, another dressage stand out. Ijsselmeer has proved himself to be a consistent, lifelong champion in the show ring. Undefeated at sport horse breed shows as a yearling and 2 year old, he was also the #1 yearling and 2 year old at the North American KWPN Keurings. In 1995 he garnered an enviable "A" rating at his stallion licensing, receiving 7.5 - 8.5 for gaits, 8 for jumping, 9 for dressage ability, and 9.5 for character. The jury's confidence in his dressage talent has been confirmed by his outstanding performance record from First Level through Grand Prix: he has been a USDF and/or California Dressage Society champion or reserve champion at every level. His daughter, Maile, 2008 FEI Paralympics Individual Gold and Silver winner in Hong Kong (for CAN), and his son, Oahu, 2008 Grand Prix Adult Amateur Champion - KWPN All Breeds, and third USDF nationally, show just how suitable his offspring are for the amateur, as well as for the FEI levels.
I can't wait to see where this girl goes with the right match!!!
