Keystone’s Amadeus

This is one exceptional 3 year old Oldenburg gelding! He is a promising youngster out of Amadeus, that is sure to turn heads.
Keystone’s Amadeus or “Wolfie”, as we call him, was awarded Premium foal status at his weanling year inspection, along with being awarded site champion. He has three excellent gaits. His canter is exceptionally smooth to sit. He’s a soft mover who is just learning how to move his body—but the potential in big gaits is easy to see. Wolfie is patient, can take a joke, and generally just has a Labrador demeanor. He tries his best at every new thing we’ve thrown at him, and enjoys a challenge.

Since his weaning, he has been raised in pasture with two other babies and continually handled by professionals—so Wolfie has great manners around horses and people. Wolfie houses well in a stall or outdoors. Wolfie had extensive ground work training in his first two years. He was exposed to tarps and bags and all kinds of obstacles—and he is unbothered by all. Wolfie was taught to line drive—usually from behind (not in a circle) as to be mindful of his growing joints. For months, Wolfie was line-driven all around our 14 acre farm, in all of our arenas, indoor and outdoor. Wolfie was saddled and bitted as a two year old, but not backed until his three year old year. With all the right preparation, Wolfie has been a quick study in the basics under saddle, and is coming along beautifully. We would call him a textbook student; 2+2=4 for him every day.

He is comfortably w/t/c under saddle. Wolfie is responsive to the aids but not overly sensitive. No buck, rear, or bolt. He has even been taken out on the trails and passed with flying colors. He is brave and very willing to do anything you ask of him. He is one of those horses that would be easily brought along by a competent amateur—but would truly excel in the hands of a pro. He’s happy to work, loves attention, and is just overall an easy, good boy.
