Kingsman (ANCCE Reg. Kamiakin de Naranjo) is a 2015 Grey Gelding, standing 14.3hh.

A complete joy to have in the barn; everyone that meets him falls in love instantly. He has a big personality and a quiet, cool confidence to which both humans and horses are drawn.

King was started as a youngster in a dressage program. He then spent 18 months being worked with intermittently in a natural horsemanship program where he learned some liberty and ground maneuvers. The natural horsemanship training taught King to step up to a mounting block like it is his job to stand there quietly waiting for you to mount. He also learned how to demonstrate his playful personality by interacting and playing with a large jolly ball, ground poles, tarps, barrels and even trash cans when we don't keep a close eye on him.

King's dressage foundation is there, and we have spent some time drawing it back out after his hiatus in natural horsemanship. He is sensitive and light off the leg while also laterally inclined. He has a strong work ethic and his desire to please his person is astounding. We have been working to improve King's posture and suppleness, encouraging him to reach through and engage his entire body through a variety of exercises. Currently schooling all of 1st and 2nd level movements with ease, albeit working on polishing.

Rides well indoors or out; we also walk the fields, trot hills, and walk through the woods solo with minimal distractions.
King prefers a quiet, confident rider that he can trust to be aware and in control of circumstances, while also being fair with their aids and corrections so he can focus on his work. He is sensitive and aware of his rider’s requests: he prefers to not have requests ‘shouted’ at him.

King Stands well for the farrier, the vet, and grooming. The second time King’s current trainer interacted with King, he was able to quickly load him onto a 2-horse straight load trailer without assistance. King walked onto the trailer without hesitation.

Turned out with another gelding currently, King is respectfully in charge and allows himself to be checked by the other gelding on occasion when lines are crossed. Never a fight or an issue and we turned them out together after just an hour of cross fence introductions. They've even been caught sharing the same hay pile side by side recently. King is usually more interested in shenanigans with his more athletic friend on the other side of the fence, taking a nice siesta (Spanish for nap), or enthusiastically playing with his mega jolly ball.

King is a wonderful horse with quality gaits. He got a bit of a later start in life with training, but he has a great well-rounded foundation and is ready to learn and grow with his next partner. King enjoys his training and loves variety in what is asked of him.
