This is your chance to purchase a well bred, not broke, warmblood gelding at a steal of a deal because... he has one eye, and he may have also managed to fracture his jaw a month later. It was a bad spring for him to say the least.

Lets start with the eye. The term congenital was thrown around at the University, but his retina was also torn/detached suggesting injury. We never found out exactly what happened. The eye never exhibited any signs of injury except for the total loss of vision. We decided it was best to have it removed to prevent him from injuring it (again?), and so that there is no forgetting he has no vision on that side. He must have slowly lost vision in that eye because he adapted so well I completely missed it until he was sent off to have a sales video made. His other eye is 100% (thank god).

As for the jaw. He managed to get his front teeth stuck on the metal grate in my slow feeder, and then he must have pulled back in panic. Thankfully, it was just his front teeth that were affected. He will have no problems with a bit. However, he will always need a hay option because he will always have a bit of an overbite making it difficult for him to nibble on short grass. The slow feeder has been decommissioned.

Otherwise, he is just perfect. He has a wonderful personality, and will make a fantastic riding horse for someone willing to take a chance on him. He has always been very easy to handle for vets, farrier, and me. He leads, picks up feet, wears blankets, ties, etc. He is also a chestnut that does not seem to be prone to any of those redhead issues like scratches (knock on wood). He is a really good boy and is going to make someone very happy.

He currently stands about 15.3 and should mature around 16h. He is small, but he is solid built and once mature is going to take up a riders leg. He was bred to be a jumper, and I believe he could still do the job no problem.
