For Sale
3 Diamonds Farm is proud to present for a client: Legend of Toro! This lovely gelding is an 11 year old, 17.0hh, South Carolina bred Thoroughbred. Often mistaken for a warmblood with his good looks and build, Toro is a beautiful chestnut with flashy white chrome. He comes from very sporty breeding, with his sire line going back to Go for Gin, who almost won the Triple Crown in 1994 (coming in first in the Kentucky Derby and second in both the Preakness and the Belmont that year). Toro’s dam line is equally impressive, going back to Northern Dancer and the great Secretariat, from whom Toro gets his good looks. With such incredible breeding, it is no wonder that Toro is so talented! Toro raced a total of five times, only coming in first once, earning a total of $6,280. Sourced to become a dressage and eventing star, Toro last raced in 2016, and has been enjoying the life as a sport horse since he was about 4!
Toro is that experienced show horse everyone is dreaming of! Experience eventing to intermediate level, straight dressage to second level, and truly a packer at the lower levels. Recently jump schooled with a young rider (who had never ridden him before and dislocated her finger on a mechanical bull ride the day before), showcasing his talents as a wonderful schoolmaster. And he was happy to take a joke, including some bad distances and many mistakes, and still pack her around happily. Toro is just a lovely horse that will take you to the jumps and take care of you out on cross country. He is bold and brave jumping. Just a cross country machine, giving any rider confidence. On the flat, he is really fancy and would be happy in a pure dressage home too. Recent dressage scores in the low 30s at modified. Second level dressage scores in the mid to high 60s. And Toro would love to go on other adventures and do more than just eventing with his new person too. He is happy to teach lessons, go on a hack or trail ride, or even switch to a new discipline with his next rider. The sky is the limit with this incredible horse!
Toro is a gentleman in the barn. He has very good ground manners and stands nicely on the cross ties and at the mounting block. Great for the vet and farrier. Easy to groom, tack, bathe, and ship. He has very good feet and wears four shoes (needed to stud cross country). He is currently in individual turnout due to being for sale and he is turned out at night. No maintenance and up to date on everything, including dental, coggins, and shots. No vices. Toro is also incredibly kind and has a forgiving nature. More than anything, Toro would love to be someone’s pet with his kind disposition. He loves his job and jumping and would love to find someone that would enjoy those things with him!
This is THE opportunity to own THAT incredibly talented horse! Negotiable to the perfect match and it could be YOU! For more information and videos, and to set up a time to meet Toro, please contact 3 Diamonds Farm at [email protected].
