His sire, Lagoheidor, won his Stallion Performance test and competed successfully in FEI Jumping AND Upper Level Dressage. His offspring also compete successfully in both arenas.

Legolas's dam, Matera, is a tall, big bodied Hanoverian mare that passes on her exceptional temperament, rideability, and soundness. Almost a quarter of her bloodlines are from the famous Gotthard so she shows the typical G-line qualities that are extremely sought after.
