Lovingly known as Oscar, my gentle giant will steal your heart. Oscar is an impressive, powerhouse of a mover. He has a ground covering, floating stride that’s like no other. Oscar learns quickly and has a solid foundation.
Oscar started his training in the fall of 2023. After taking the winter off, I was in an auto accident that resulted in a traumatic brain injury leaving me unable to ride. The trainer who broke Oscar decided to stay based in Florida, so at no fault of his own, Oscar waited until I could find a high quality trainer to continue his work. Oscar has been working regularly once per week since July. He stands quietly at the mounting block, walks, turns, steers and stops. He is also trotting under saddle.
Due to COVID, Oscar was not presented for inspection as a foal, but his full sister was previously named a Foal of Distinction (now called Elite foal). Last summer she was approved for breeding and awarded the Premium mare title. I bred and raised Oscar alongside of his siblings, and also bred and raised his dam. They’re great minded horses with loads of talent.
Oscar’s sire Lestat has a beautiful way of going, elastic movement, excellent, scopey jump, wonderful temperament, and great rideability. He’s shown successfully in the hunters, jumpers and derbies. Truly a multi-talented sire. His dam Chianti Rose is by Coromino, out of an Iroko mare. You can really see Coromino’s influence in Oscar’s gaits. The power and suspension is just incredible. Oscar covers a lot of ground quickly, and like the great stallions in his pedigree, I think he’s also going to be successfully multi talented.
Oscar is fully registered with GOV and has his lifetime USEF card. He is free of vices or quirks and has never been lame or injured.
