Marauder was born 7/7/2016. He is purpose bred to event, but is athletic enough to excel in any discipline. He is easy to catch and halter, leads, loads, ties, clips, easy to pull his mane, lunges, works in hand and is starting to ground drive. He is wearing a saddle and will be ready to break this next winter. Marauder was gelded at the end of September and has a very "amateur type" personality.
His pedigree screams with talent and ability. His sire Mannhattan went on to compete successfully through Level 8 in the Jumpers before a pasture accident finished his performance career. He is also one of a handful of domestically born and bred warmblood stallions to produce a fully licensed son - Morocco - who was licensed through performance by competing through Grand Prix in Dressage. In 2013, Mannhattan had no fewer than three offspring competing at FEI in Dressage!
His damline is just as impressive. His dam, Piper's Grainne is by Aberjack who himself was ridden through the Advanced level in eventing by Mark Todd. Aberjack is a registered New Zealand Sport Horse, son of Aberlou, the most successful and influential sire in New Zealand's sport horse breeding. Aberlou is the sire of Blythe Tait's World Championship Gold Medalist, Messiah, and of his 2nd place Badminton winner, Delta, as well as of many other top eventers and show jumpers in New Zealand. Mark Todd says, "I never thought I would find everything in one horse - conformation, temperament, paces, jumping technique and bloodlines - but I did, in Aberjack."
Marauder's pedigree has enough blood to have the gallop for the upper levels, but will move like a warmblood. Price negotiable to the perfect show home.
