Mardi Gee, born March 9, 2011 in the middle of Mardi Gras season. This beautiful 17.1 hand mare is athletic, smart, and safe. Mardi’s mother, Marquee, is a Rambo baby and her father is Willemoes (World Cup Jumper). This combination has produced an exquisite Dressage movement and a talented Hunter/Jumper.
Mardi has been inspected by the Dansk Varmblod as a foal. She scored 8’s for Type, Legs, Trot and General Impression, with a 9 for an Exceptional Walk. Mardi has been certified as DK DV
As a large mare, Mardi is light in the hands and the leg. She is extremely responsive to your seat and loves a new challenge. Mardi Gee is currently competing at First Level 1, (training at 2 and 3 level) in the Dressage Ring and Jumping 4’3” in the Jumper ring. This fall she has competed in the Hunter ring with a young 13 year old amateur rider and took home numerous first place ribbons.
This beautiful versatile mare has been hand raised on my farm with nothing but gentle handling and kind praise. Given time to grow and mature, we took time to bring this large mare along to ensure she stayed sound and healthy. Mardi needs her own “person” to take her to the next levels. There is no limit to her potential. This polite mare has no bad habits and is easy to handle. Her temperament is extremely calm and quiet and is not nervous or skittish at all. Our girl would be perfect for the amateur or the professional, her talent is evident.
