Videos taken 11/19 of Melon's first free-jump training session in our roundpen: Search "Meilon 2006" by HamiltonEquestrian on YouTube for videos of her warm up trot, a flat cavaletti, a low crossrail, and then a low vertical.

We kept it low today as it was her first go at it, but the height of the jumps will increase over the next few weeks so keep an eye on Meilon and her progress. If you like what you see now make an offer- we would like to see her find good placement as soon as possible and are willing to consider all reasonable offers.

Meilon is sound and strong, and is gorgeous now that she is filling out and maturing, but we do not have time to work with her or the barn space to keep her. She is easy to work with, has no bad habits, and learns quickly. Although bred specifically to jump solid, strong, and big, Meilon's movement shows that she could excel in multiple disciplines. She has fantastic, balanced movement, athleticism, and a lovely attitude. She is currently 16.2-3 hands, and is started with three months professional basic training under saddle. She also ties and trailers well.

Meilon was sired by Mezcalero, son of the world-renowned Voltaire. He has earned acclaim both as a successful international competitor in Grand Prix and World Cup Qualifiers, and as a sire of equally successful offspring. Mezcalero's damsire is Ramiro, who stood in Holland, Germany, Westfal, and Zangershiede, and was named Horse of the Year in Holland in 1992. Meilon's Dam, Genteel Slewpy, is a granddaughter of Seattle Slew; sire of well over 100 Stakes-winners and a champion Broodmare sire who has earned the title of 'most complete thoroughbred the industry has ever seen.' "Madison," was chosen for her endurance, strength, kind temperamant, and easy, comfortable gaits. She is currently competing in Hunter/Jumpers out of Horsepark in Del Mar, CA.
