Firefly was bred with performance and athletic ability in mind. She has been handled since birth, and has always been eager to be around people. Her bloodlines boast some of the top imported cob lines from Wales; including stud prefixes of Nebo, Trevallion, Taraco, Synod and Parc. Her sire, Minyffoord Megastar was well known for his performance in the United States in halter classes, ridden classes and driving classes. During his career, he was a Breyer horse and represented the breed at Breyerfest. He also went back across the pond to compete in driving at Worlds in Europe. Firefly's damn, Taraco Dragonfly, has been a high producing broodmare, and stamps her babies with trainability and a sound mind. These characteristics are a notable trait to Firefly's personality.

Firefly has been well started, receiving years of solid ground work to prepare her for her career as a riding or driving horse. She is confident and easy to handle; a real treat to have in the barn. She is often bathed, ties, body clipped, mane pulled, braided, and much more! She stands quietly to be shod, loads easily and without hesitation in the trailer, and is easy for all veterinarian appointments. She has had regular dentals, is well vaccinated and has always been sound at her annual lameness exams. Everyone that meets Firefly readily falls in love with her sweet nature.

Firefly was started this last winter as a late four year old. She was then given the spring and early summer off (due to my work schedule). She has started back in to work within the last few month and continues to excel with every schooling session. Firefly has never put a foot out of place, and continues to be free of vices. She is easy to bring along, and a joy to ride. She hacks out with other horses, has been ridden outside in a variety of weather conditions, and easily goes in an indoor arena. Firefly is also well traveled in the region. She has been to multiple local facilities, and behaves as well off-property as she does at home. It is hard to have a bad day with this mare.

Firefly has shown a propensity for upper level performance from an early age. Her trainable mind pairs well with her big gaits. She would excel in a performance home with a professional, with an adult amature or with a junior rider in a program. She exemplifies all the best attributes of the welsh cob breed and would do well on the breed circuit or representing the breed at open shows.
