Noholoa (barn name Sushi) was carefully bred by Deborah Harrison (Platinum-level breeder, who has bred over 45 upper level horses) to have the quality for a pro and the temperament for an AA. Combining both jumper and dressage blood, Sushi is the full package; handsome, athletic, laid-back, friendly and learns very quickly. He has three very good gaits, a free shoulder, and wonderfully powerful hind end. He’s been girthed up and I’ve already laid across his back… he will be ready to be backed in the spring. Born on Memorial Day 2018, he is 2yrs 6months and is currently 16+h - we expect him to finish about 16.2. With excellent feet and bone he is a beautiful black bay with the cutest ears ever. This guy will be a treat to move up the levels in the jumper ring or dressage court. As you can see in the video, we lunged him for the first time over a little jump and it was absolutely effortless. He didn’t stop to look… just powered over it.
Dam: Ohia Lehua is by the famous jumper stallion Voltaire (Furioso II x Gotthard). Her dam was Astra, by Afrikaner XX x Dirigent, a carefully selected imported mare. This line has produced seven upper level dressage horses and several hunter/jumpers. Ohia Luhua’s sire Voltaire competed successfully at the international level in show jumping and is an influential sire of show jumpers and dressage horses.
Sire: Contester II has a lot of famous names in his pedigree like Contender, Landgraf, Calypso and Ramiro Z. He is proving to produce people-oriented, easygoing and willing temperaments… Noholoa is a good example of this. Contester II showed very successfully up to I1 with numerous National Championships. Contester is athletic and has a great mind that he has passed on to his offspring without exceptions. And they are talented in all disciplines! He also passes on very correct conformation with beautiful necks and heads with nice bone and good movement.
