Obelix is a well-built colt with a fabulous pedigree that sets him up for greatness in the jumper ring. He also is the sweetest foal ever, an absolute in-your-pocket personality with no spook and a coolness about himself, that he surely got from his dam, Cinderella.

His sire, On Ira is a Selle Francais stallion by Voltaire and Joyau D’Or A. His maternal half-brother is the 1.60 m Elite Stallion Krack Boom, but On Ira himself has an impressive career to show for: He double cleared at the World Championships in Lanaken as a 7 year old and was the best 8-year-old at the CSIO de La Baule. He was faultless at the World Stallion Championships in Lanaken 2010 and as a 9 years old, under Cian O’Connor, he was a Grand International Winner. He jumped 2m20 during the puissance CSIO of Rome and ranked 2nd at the CSIO of Dublin (see video below).
Grandsire Voltaire hardly needs any introduction. He was the result of crossing two outstanding bloodlines: Furioso II and Gotthard. Furioso II produced 200 state premium mares and at least 70 approved stallions of which several are standing at stud in other continents. The dam’s sire Gotthard is a legend in German sports horse breeding. Voltaire was the sire with the most offspring at the Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996 and was second on the World Breeding Ranking of Showjumping Sires. He has over 50 approved sons and many of his offspring jump at Grand Prix level. He even was awarded hunter sire of the Year 2001, 2002 and 2003 in the USA and was one of the top sires in the KWPN Jumping Index with 151 points.

Obelix's mother Cinderella is a Holstein premium mare from one of the most influential Holsteiner Stamms 730B and was imported from Germany. She has an impressive pedigree and several highly successful offspring in Germany to show for it.
Her sire Carlos DZ was a brilliant Holstein stallion with highly successful offspring known for their great rideability, good mind and jumping ability. He is one of the few sons of the impressive Cantus (by Caletto I).
Cinderella's dam is the state premium mare Tornerose by Coleman, who herself was highly successful in the sport. Coleman, is the son of the international show jumper Carthago and grandson of Lord, who was one of the most famous stallions of the Holsteiner breed. Thanks to his exceptional heritage, his numerous descendants have reached the Champions’ league from jumping tests to international jumping competitions. He has an offspring profit of more than € 1.5 million, more than 120 successful sports horses and 30 licensed sons. Colman is an exceptional stallion.
