Okidoki is a gentleman with top character. He inherits his quality, type, and excellent gaits from the combination of his sire, Desperado N.O.P. Many foal shows and auctions in Europe have had top Desperado N.O.P. foals in their collections, and Okidoki is no exception. Purchased directly from the breeder and imported to Canada from the Netherlands in late 2022, this gelding is an absolute package for the budding amateur or established professional. When considering a prospect for the future of modern Dressage, Oki has all the special qualities needed to take his rider to the top. This 2019 gelding is beautifully packaged with extremely comfortable paces, giving a good feeling in the tack. Quick to accept the aids, Oki loves his job and is happy to come out each ride. He swings nicely through his back, is light in the contact, and accepts the riders seat without issue. His forward nature makes developing him easy, as he maintains natural impulsion without being ‘hot’.

This polite and loveable gelding shows international talent. Even as a 4-year-old, Oki is reliable and safe. As the video shows, Oki is a pleasure to ride and enjoys both the indoor and outdoor arena, as well as hacking around the property. This very sweet boy is only available to the best home, where his kissing, treat-loving, and kind personality can be appreciated. He is a gem to handle on the ground, loves his personal grooming time, and is always looking for an opportunity to nuzzle and snuggle. It’s not surprising his manners are top notch as his sire Desperado is also the same way, his rider Emmelie sharing: “He is the sweetest horse in our yard. He is an absolute top character and is very sweet. Although he is used for breeding a lot he has no ‘stallion manners’ at all. He is always ready and happy to do his Dressage work”. She also shares: “His offspring are also known for their nice characters, talent and rideability. We also have a few of them in our own yard and they look a lot like their dad.” Desperado is currently ranked 22nd in the FEI Dressage World Ranking with 1592 points.

Oki is undoubtedly a candidate for the FEI ring like his sire and exceeds our expectations in his willingness to learn. Oki is ready for his partner, whether that be clinics, shows, or even just hacking out, this gelding is a gentleman through and through.

Oki competed in his first competition away from home in June 2023, at the Touch of Class show at Thunderbird Show Park in the FEI Combined Young Horse Class and was Reserve Champion with a score of 76.4% in an extremely big atmosphere, with excellent comments from an International Judging Panel (see attached video of his test).

Even more recently (October 2023) Oki competed in another show, and achieved a scores of 84%(!!!) in the FEI 4 Year Old test and was subsequently named overall BC FEI Young Horse Champion for 2023.

The future is so bright with this talented young man and he is ready to rock the FEI 5 Year Old Test next year.
