Dutch Warmblood -

2010 16.3 Black DutchX Mare. Talented, beautiful and sweet!

Willa—

This lovely 11 year old Dutch mare has a solid classical dressage foundation. She is a correct, back to front ride, is soft and responsive off the aids and her lateral work is push button and silky smooth.
Willa has lovely form over fences and is point and shoot. Very brave and honest with a big step but has an easy half halt to balance up/wait. She is also great on cross country and remains just as bold and adjustable. Water, ditches, banks etc. she is game and willing to do it all.

Video #1 below is her 2nd time schooling cross country. Video #2 is first time being ridden, since 2019, by this particular rider.

Willa also hacks out wonderfully alone or in a group and will contentedly lead or follow. She has met all forms of wildlife including bear, turkey, deer etc. as well as being accustomed to my dogs leaping in and out of the bushes.
Willa has excellent ground manners and has the cleanest stall in the barn. She is good to lead alone or in a pair, stands quietly on the cross ties, loves being groomed and ground ties to bathe. She stands to be clipped and braided etc. and is excellent for the vet and farrier.
Loads and trailers well and is the same off property as she is at home.

Due to Covid Willa has no show record but did attend her first three phase event last August and behaved like a seasoned professional all day. Willa is on loan this summer to a working student at Denny Emerson's Tamarack Hill Farm and they have spent the last 2+ months getting to know each other and have not shown.

I see this mare excelling in the jumper ring (she has SCOPE!) but she would also happily make a great dressage, event or fox hunting partner.

While she is as honest as the day is long and by no means requires a professional, like many mares, she directly reflects the energy of her rider. If her pilot is confident and self-assured, so is she; just so, if her rider is anxious and jittery so is she. Due to this alone, she is best suited for a confident teen rider or adult amateur in a program who has an intermediate skill set adequate to handle her responsiveness.
