Qo-Pilot aka "Maverick" is by the Oldenburg stallion Quilot Z. Quilot's pedigree is filled with some of the most influential and talented bloodlines in Jumper breeding. Quick Star, Galoubet A and Pilot to name a few. Quilot himself was successful as an Open Jumper at an early age; for instance, he claimed a 6th place in the 1997 World Championship finals for 5-year-olds under Jos Lansink. From Quilot Z`s first crop the 3-yr-old products Quick Star Z and Quota Z were selected for the Z-Auction at the 2000 World Championships for Young Horses.
Qo-Pilot's dam Pikturesque is by Pik Kasso. Pik Kasso is the son of Phantast who's pedigree includes some of the finest dressage and jumping bloodlines. His sire is the Hanoverian stallion Pik Solo, who has produced many successful performance horses at all levels of competition. His grandsire is the legendary Pik Koeing who sired 19 approved Hanoverian stallions and over 200 main stud book mares. Phantast's dam is the Westphalian mare Dusalin, an outstanding jumper. She produced many premium foals including Prinz David, the sale topper at the 1991 Glenwood Farm Production sale. Phantast's Grandsire Renaldo, known for his elasticity and good temperament, was one of the most requested stallions at the station at Warendorf in Germany, producing many outstanding sons and German auction horses.
Pikturesque's Dam sire is the Donnerhall son, Donner Bube. Although his lineage is laden with dressage bloodlines, it is far from devoid of jumping blood - his sire line is that of Paul Schockemohle's Olympic silver medalist and $1.5 million winning jumper, Deister.
Donner Bube's sire, Donnerhall, now immortalized in bronze, has had a dominant influence in the dressage arena worldwide and Pik Bube I, who has 15 approved sons and nearly 200 Main Studbook mares, is a strong influence for dressage and jumping abilities. Grundstein I is likely best known in Canada as the sire of the CET dressage mount, Gilbona, but he also sired internationally ranked jumpers in the Oldenburg, Hanoverian and Westphalian registries and got 13 approved sons in only 7 years at stud in Germany.
Donner Bube's third dam, Alinda is also the dam of Purioso, a stallion who has numerous KWPN offspring in the world rankings for dressage and jumping. In actual fact, horses of international caliber, in all three Olympic disciplines have been generated by the very bloodlines that Donner Bube exhibits. Not only do these names stand alone - they are consistently found combined in the ancestry of top horses.
Winner of his stallion test, Donner Bube has a powerhouse pedigree resulting from breeding the best to the best, generation after generation. He provided a unique opportunity for breeders whether they are interested in producing dressage horses or show jumpers.
Although Donner Bube has been shown successfully as a jumper, he has the talent to be competitive in the upper levels of dressage- just as his lineage indicates. In fact, the depth of dressage and jumping blood he provides is hard to duplicate
