2014 Oldenburg Gelding by Qredit Hilltop.
Rio is a friendly gelding who is looking for his forever match! His cute personality comes out once he gets to know you. He has strong and lofty movement which coupled with his flashy white markings is sure to get you noticed in the show ring. He would be well suited to move up the levels in dressage with ease. He is not currently under saddle but is recently in training. He carries the saddle without a problem and accepts the bridle. Rio is being started by Anne Timewell who specializes in natural horsemanship and dressage. She excels in getting horses to move through their whole body using the cavessan and other spanish methodology to help them find balance and relaxation in movement.
Rio is by Qredit Hilltop, an up and coming dressage stallion. At just 10 years old, he has already been Grand Champion of Dressage at Devon, Champion of his 70-Day Stallion Test (earning ten scores of 9 or higher), Reserve Champion of the USEF Four-Year Old National Championships, and twice has been a USDF Horse of the Year winner. In 2017, Qredit placed 6th at the USEF Developing Grand Prix Championships and won the US Dressage Finals at Intermediate II. Qredit offspring have won at Dressage at Devon, the USDF Breeders Series Championships, and his oldest are now winning undersaddle with excellent scores. In 2017, two Qredit daughters finished 5th & 6th at the USDF Region 8 Training Level Championships.
His Dam is by Donnarweiss GGF. Donnarweiss was Champion of his 30-Day Test with an overall score of 8.33. His versatility was showcased with individual scores of 9 for rideability and jumping technique. In his first season of FEI, Donnarweiss was ranked first for the AHS/USDF Hanoverian All-Breed's Awards. In 2009, Donnarweiss won the USDF Region 8 Prix St. Georges Championships. The following season Donnarweiss finished second in the AHS/USDF Hanoverian All-Breeds Awards and eleventh in the nation for Intermediaire II with scores as high as 72%.
Rio needs a person with strong leadership qualities because he is still quite green. He is a quick learner and wants to please his person. Rio has been barefoot all his life and has great big feet. He has grown up living on rolling hills in a large pasture with our young horses. He has been handled naturally since birth; he is good for the farrier, clips, and loads well in the trailer. Because he loves attention and pampering, he will make a great match for someone who wants to form a strong bond with their horse.
Screening radiographs done about a year ago are free of OCD, These are available for review.
