Impressive FEI candidate, well balanced & fancy!

Qupid HW’s sire is the famous BundesChampion Quaterback.

Quaterback is a stallion that seems like he could only come from another planet - with his light-footed, brilliant movement and perfect cadence, all eyes become riveted on Quaterback when he appears.

He was the radiant Bundeschampion of the three year old riding horses in 2006 with the highest scores for his trot and canter. The test riders in Warendorf even gave him this dream score of 10.0. Prior to this test, he had won several tests for young riding horses.

He was also the winner of his 30-day test with a final score of 9.14 in dressage, an 8.43 for jumping and an overall score of 8.88. As if it were not enough to have unbelievably dynamic movement, he was also blessed with an outstanding type.

Quaterback comes from one of the most successful mare lines of modern day. His dam Passionata is a half-sister of the unforgettable World Champion and double Bundeschampion, Poetin. Her full brothers Samba Hit I to IV put on convincing presentations at the Bundeschampionate. Samba Hit I was also a finalist in the 2006 Nürnberg Burgpokal and the sire of Samba's Diamond who became the Champion Stallion of the licensing in Berlin-Brandenburg and Sachsen-Anhalt that same year.

Quaterback's successful advanced (S) level sire Quaterman also participated in several Bundeschampionats and is deemed one of the best sires for passing on good movements in the new German States. The grandsire Quando-Quando took 15th place at the World Championships in Aachen in 2006 under Kristy Oatley-Nist. With a pedigree geared for performance from all sides and from the famous Neustädter P family, all doors are open for Quaterback.

He passes his big and fleet-footed movement to his offspring, and therefore has produced a lot of foal champions and auction foals. One of them was sold for 120.000 euros at a Hanoverian auction.

His off-spring are very popular, due to their modern, noble looks, outstanding rideability and strong movements and they also have the good jumping ability his pedigree promises.

All of these characteristics are impressively documented in the FN's 2004 Predicted Breeding Value statistics.

In 2012, Quaterback was the sire of a Vice-Bundeschampion. Quarterback uses his body as nothing you have ever seen. He is the talk of the town in Germany, with movements that can only be described as incredibly supple, strong and uphill. Over 50 sons of Quaterback are now licensed, including the 2009 and 2010 young stallion champions in Neustadt/Dosse. In addition, Quaterback has produced several premium stallions at almost all German licensing's.

Scores for the Bundeschampionat:

Trot; 9.5

Canter: 10 walk

He started his stallion career by being named Champion of his licensing in Neustadt/Dosse in 2005.

In 2006, after the Bundeschampionate, he went on to win his 30 day test at Neustadt/Dosse with outstanding scores:

Qupid HW’s dam sire is Ulla Salzgebers Roessegnieur

German Dressage News: Ulla Salzgeber has acquired a new mount to strengthen her string of horses. She has purchased the 7-year old bay Baden Würtemberger gelding Roessegnieur (by Rousseau x Rubinstein). The bay is currently ridden by Ulla's assistant trainer Frank Freund and the duo recently made its M-level debut at a local show in Babenhausen. Roesseigneur is bred by Uwe Hildebrandt and was previously owned by Frank Angst and the Swedish Maria Leijon. As a 2,5 year old Roesseignieur was licensed for the South German studbooks and briefly stood up for stud at the State Stud Neustadt/Dosse. He is now a gelding though. "I'm so looking forward working this winter with this delightful horse," Salzgeber commented.

Roessegnieur’s sire is Rousseau, one of the top stallions for producing rideable offspring, with easy, kind temperaments. In 2007, he had the highest dressage index of any KWPN stallion on a score of 181. He is a tall, large-framed stallion with plenty of bone and a strong shoulder, with a well-connected topline.
Performance - Rousseau had a stellar young horse career; Dutch National Champion as a four-year-old, reserve the following year, and a silver medal at the World Young Horse Championships as a five-year-old. He also won the 2001 KWPN Stallion performance testing, and under Dutch rider Nicolette van Lierop, he won the 2002 Pavo Cup Finals and 2002 & 2003 KWPN Stallion Competitions.

Sire - Ferro is a dressage legend, who competed at the highest level, including at the Olympics and European Championships under Coby van Balen, and then went on to become one of dressage's major foundation sires. He produced a dressage dynasty, with his most notable offspring being - among others - Negro, Kennedy, Metall and Rhodium. He has more than 35 licensed sons and is grandsire of many gold medallists including Uthopia and Valegro.

Damline - Damsire Roemer has the impressive accolade of having not only competed at grand prix dressage, but also having jumped to 1.40m level. At least three of his sons also jumped at grand prix, including the licensed stallion Boy-B, while six sons reach grand prix dressage, among them Winston and Darwin, both licensed with the KWPN. Dam Zsuzsa had such an excellent temperament that her owner's daughter rode her to her wedding!

Progeny - Rousseau's offspring have been exceptional. From 2006-2008, Rousseau produced three successive KWPN licensing champions (Wamberto, Zack, and Ampere), a feat never accomplised by any stallion before or since. All three performed outstanding performance tests and are now successful stallions in their own right. He has also produced the Hanoverian performance test champion, Fiorano, who has scored +71% at international grand prix, and the Celle State Stud stallion Fürst Rousseau.

All of his offspring have scored fantastic marks for temperament, rideability, paces and type, with the KWPN noting that the trot is light-footed, balanced and with much cadence. Rousseau really stamps his foals with his type and character.
