4yo 16.3hh All-Around Capable Eventer/Jumper

IRON WILL EVENTING PROUDLY OFFERS FOR SALE:
“RADAGAST”

Radagast is a quiet, all-around capable 16.3hh 4yo (February 2013,) Bay American Warmblood Gelding. He is very willing and will jump anything you point him at! He has never had a jump penalty at an event, and always places top 3 after dressage. This horse has a bright future in eventing or show jumping!

He has 3 great gaits and an unbeatable jump making him great for an amateur or junior looking to move a young horse up the levels successfully.

Currently competing Beginner Novice (2'6) and would be ready for someone interested in competing in the Young Event Horse (YEH) competitions. He has been down the jump chute to 3'9 (with potential for much more!) We can't wait to see this horse's incredible jumping takes him as he continues to mature!

No known vices or previous injuries.

Further information:

As of 2017 Radagast will be preparing to compete in Young Event Horse (YEH,) competitions by eventing at 2'3-2'6 (summer 2017,) and make his jumper show debut in preparation for competing as a 5yo jumper in 2018.

Radagast was started in March of 2016, and has been a fast learner! He has far exceeded our expectations and has been jumping small 2'3-2'6 courses and schooling Training/First level dressage. He has also been down the jump chute to 3'9.

Radagast has competed at events at Fair Hill, Plantation, Loch Moy (in Maryland,) and has never placed outside of the top 3 in all of his events! He competed for the first time at the Fair Hill starter trial on Sept 10th 2016, at which he ran double clear placing 3rd on a dressage score of 34.2 in the Intro Horse division.

In early October 2016, he stepped in when one of our horses could not compete at an event and won his second event and first competition at 2'6! He ran double clear to win on a dressage score of 29.3. At Plantation Field’s 2016 Halloween starter trial, he ran in his intended division (2’3) and was double clear to end 2nd!

In May 2017, Radagast ran his first event of the year at Fair Hill, and was 3rd place after running double clear to end on his dressage score!

Radagast has certainly proved that he is an absolute jumping machine with a great balance and "cruise control" especially for his age! And it doesn't hurt that he has great square knees!

Radagast also started his career with a lot of trail riding and is confident crossing streams, bridges and even through tunnels both alone and in groups.

He has 3 lovely, correct gaits and phenomenal front end form over fences. We believe that Radagast would make a fun companion for an experienced junior or adult amateur interested in trying the Young Event Horse competitions. However, we believe he'd excel in any ring and also be happy to trail ride and paperchase in between events!

He has proven himself in competitive settings and in trail riding/recreational settings. He loads/trailers, bathes, clips, stands for the farrier, (he wears 2 front shoes only,) and is an all-around good guy!

Please note: Radagast is ridden by a 6’1 rider in all of his photos.

Radagast is an all around capable mount, who could be competitive in nearly any setting! All he needs is the right rider to finish his training! He's a fast learner and a fun ride so try not to forget he's only 4!
