Ritmo is a lovely black 2021 gelding by I’m Special de Muze out of Evangelyn (Idocus x Galoubet A). He is a really kind and personable type, has taken to new things easily and smartly, and shows good promise in his movement for being a great jumper prospect or potential hunter derby mount. He is easy to work with on the ground… clips, bathes, good for farrier, has started some lunging and begun a bit of in-hand work with a bridle.
Ritmo’s sire, I’m Special de Muze has an exceptional talent and a pedigree to match. He is a powerful type with a great canter, great scope and conformation. From a young age he showed great rideability and character. His sire Emerald and dam Walnut de Muze both competed internationally with Harrie Smolders.
I’m Special’s dam Walnut de Muze comes from a long damline of successful producers and top jumpers. Walnut de Muze herself competed on several winning Nations Cups teams with Harrie Smolders. She also produced KWPN approved Falaise de Muze and other top-level jumping horses. Her dam Querly Chin also competed in the World Cup Final and won other Nations Cups. Besides Walnut de Muze, she also produced Merveille de Muze, Narcotique de Muze II, Narcotique de Muze IV, Walloon de Muze and Werly Chin de Muze. Among others descending from her line are approved stallions Querlybet Hero, Vagabond de la Pomme, Quel Hero de Muze and Inshallah de Muze..
I’m Special’s sire, Emerald van’t Ruytershof, needs no real introduction. Beyond competing and winning at the international level, including top performances in Nations Cups, the World Cup Final, and the Olympics. Emerald has another loaded pedigree, with sire Diamant de Semilly and damsire Carthago Z. He has had several great offspring, including I’m Special and Igor.
Ritmo’s dam, Evangelyn, has been a career broodmare. Her oldest offspring is 6, a young hunter who was recently champion in the 6 and under in February. She has passed to all of her foals a great personality, good amateur-friendly disposition, great movement, and a lot of intelligence. Her pedigree is really interesting; she’s full sibling to Roc USA. ROC was USEF #1 Hunter Breeding sire in 2015, and has produced several grand prix horses as well. Sire Idocus was a star dressage horse who competed in the World Cup Finals and the Olympics, and produced many top horses, including jumpers. The pedigree includes Voltaire, 1.60 international showjumper and producer of over 50 approved sons. Damsire Galoubet was team gold medalist at the 1982 World Championships and won many international Grand Prixs, he also produced famous Baloubet du Rouet, as well as Quick Star. He’s had a huge number of direct approved sons, and down the line further come more famous names like Balou du Rouet, and Taloubet Z.
