2 for 1! Hanoverian Mare in foal to Bliss MF

Lovely Exceptionally bred 2008 Hanoverian mare by Rotspon x Brentano II – Grandeur in foal to Bliss MF (Balou du Rouet x Argentinus) for April 2016. Foal will be a full sibling to BWP Premium colt Balou Suede Shoes TCE

Raina is a 16.3 2008 Hanoverian mare by Rotspon (Rubinstein I - Argentan) and out of the Hanoverian mare Belana whose bloodlines include the great Brentano II, Bolero, Argentan I and Grandeur. Raina has a lovely ground covering walk, elastic trot and a powerful uphill canter. Raina has excellent barn manners and loves her baths and grooming sessions. She loves to rest her head on your shoulder and soak in as much attention as she can get. Raina passed on her lovely elastic gaits and sweet temperament to her BWP Premium colt Balou Suede Shoes “Peter”. Raina was very easy to get in foal (she took the first try both times) and is a excellent mother. Raina is a very easy keeper and does not require shoes. She is in the Belgian Warmblood Main Mare book. Raina had been lightly started under saddle as a dressage horse before I got her and could be a riding prospect if desired. I put her through a jump chute several times before I bred her and she has a fantastic jump as well so she can go in any direction! She is currently in foal to Bliss MF for a April 2016 foal who will be a full sibling to BWP Premium colt Balou Suede Shoes TCE. The ONLY reason this mare is for sale is because I am getting out of breeding so I can focus on my family and young horses. She is a lovely producer and excellent broodmare.

Raina is priced at 13,500.00

Bliss MF was the Overall Reserve Champion of the 2012 NA 70 Day stallion test. He actually had the highest overall score of 127.6, but having the 5% age deduction of 5.29 subtracted gave Bliss MF a terrific score of 122.31, just shy of the winning score of 126.59 (no age deduction). Bliss MF was definitely the most well rounded stallion, finishing second in jumping with a score of 124.23 and third in Dressage with a score of 119.77 Bliss MF's scores were 9 for Character, 9 for Temperament, 9.5 for Willingness to Work, 9 for Constitution. His movement scores were 8 for trot, 9 for Gallop and 10 for Jump. Bliss MF is approved BWP, Hanoverian, RPSI, Oldenburg GOV, sBs and Westphalin.

Bliss has extremely sought after bloodlines and his incredible athletic ability comes from both his sire Balou du Rouet and his dam sire Argentinus. Balou du Rouet is one of the best German horses of his age group. Equipped with maximum elasticity in his gaits, he completed an excellent Stallion Performance Test awarded with the top marks of 9.5 and 10.0 for jumping by the ‘foreign’ judges. In 2005 he caught everyone’s attention by scoring the highest mark of 9.2 at the national championships, making him one of Germany’s top 4 licensed stallions. His enormous jumping talent, combined with great elastic gaits and a fascinating charisma make Balou du Rouet an exciting choice for the breeders of sports horses. Once again, Balou du Rouet emphasises his dominant quality as a producer in type, elegance and movement, with numerous foals at many different auctions. He continuously produces finalists for the German foal championships. Offspring of Balou du Rouet have been approved at almost every stallion licensing most notably the licensed BE BRAVO, who sold for €350.000 as the most expensive horse of the 2007 AOS auction. His number of approved sons has amounted to over ten stallions. As a descendant of Baloubet du Rouet – gold medallist at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and an incredible three-times successive World Cup Champion he has one of the most successful jumping stallions on the international scene in his pedigree. His grand sire Galoubet is a son of the great stallion Alme and was already an international success at the young age of seven. He won team gold in 1982 at the World Championships. On the dam’s side, Balou du Rouet is directly related to the founder of the bloodline, Cor de la Bryere, from Holstein through Rantzau xx. The similarity can be seen in Balou du Rouet’s jumping style and ability. His stunning dam Georgia is by the increasingly popular Contender son Continue. The offspring of the dam’s sire, Continue, achieved lifetime earnings of over € 230.000. Bliss's dam Ornella is by the great Argentinus who is the most influential son of the Hanoverian stallion, Argentan I. Argentinus led the FN statistics of his age group for the sum of prize money earned by his offspring for an astounding seven years. He is a true genius when it comes to passing on desirable traits. Only very few stallions have sired high performance horses that reached international level not only in dressage but in jumping as well but for Argentinus, this was common place. In 1996, the son of the Celle stallion, Argentan I, became Germany’s youngest millionaire measured by the prize money his offspring won. Successful in advanced level jumping himself, this imposing sire has produced 28 approved sons and 48 State Premium mares. Horses such as the Oldenburg, Albano, who won team gold at the 2001 European Championships in dressage with Heike Kemmer, Isabell Werth’s two-time German Champion in dressage, Amaretto, who unfortunately died too early, or Autogramm, ridden by Thomas Mühlbauer, who participated in 10 Nation Cups - all of these and many more are examples of the willingness to perform that Argentinus gave to his offspring.

Raina's sire Rotspon, the tall and elegant son of Rubinstein, was clearly the crowd favorite at the 1997 Stallion Licensing. Rotspon went on to become Champion of the 1998 Stallion Performance Test with a rideability score of 9.5. Like his father, the famous Rubinstein I, Rotspon is a very impressive horse with great rideability, outstanding temperament, movement and a high aptitude for dressage. He also shows good jumping technique which is highly above average. Rotspon has been consistent in producing top offspring including winners at the prestigious Ratje Niebuhr show in Verden, Germany. He has already produced beautiful heads, a long sloping shoulder as well as a long, well set neck. His foals inherit his elastic trot and ground covering walk. Rotspon has begun creating his own branch of the Rubinstein I dynasty with many approved sons and daughters, as well as high-priced auction horses and stellar performance horses. His breeding value for dressage is 144 and his daughter’s breeding value for dressage at the Mare Performance Tests is 138. Rotspon is already one of the Hanoverian State Stud's most popular stallions and has produced 16 licensed sons and 123 State Premium Mares. Rascalino and Royal Blend are two of his famous sons now making their own mark in breeding at the State Stud in Celle.
Rotspon's sire Rubinstein I is a son of Rosenkavalier. Rosenkavalier is considered to be one of the most significant Westphalian sires. He was the winner of his stallion performance test at Warendorf in 1983. Rubinstein is considered to be one of the most significant sires of modern times, producing elegant horses with high rideability. Rubinstein, who died in 2000 at only 14 years old, was during his lifetime a living legend. With 40 wins at Grand Prix level and a member of the 1996 Olympic team, he truly shined in the sport. In his short breeding career he produced 66 licensed sons, many of whom are influential breeding stallions. Rubinstein also sired 89 State Premium mares, auction stars and Grand Prix winners. Rubenstein's dam, Antine, was a full sister to three-time Olympic competitor, Amon, and two-time Olympic champion, Ahlerich (rider: Reiner Klimke).
Rotspon's dam Antalia is by the legendary Argentan. Argentan is one of the most important founding sires of the modern Hanoverian. Argentan was Reserve Champion of his stallion licensing in 1969, and the following year, was 4th out of 15 candidates in the performance test. In 1994 he was crowned Hanoverian Stallion of the Year as a result of his extraordinary success as a sire. Argentan was the sire of 805 competition horses who won a total of DM1,648,638. He is the sire of some top performers including Mario Deslauriers 1984 World Cup winner, Aramis. He was the sire of 19 stallion sons, including Airport, Al Capone and most famed of all, Argentinus.

Raina's dam Belana is by Beluga who is by the famous Brentano II. Brentano II was a foundation sire for the Hanoverian breed. Sired by Bolero out of renowned broodmare Glocke (by Grande x Ferdinand), the stallion was bred by Max Schulz-Stellenfleth and became the 1985 Hanoverian Licensing Champion, 1986 reserve stallion performance test winner and Hanoverian Stallion of the Year in 2003. He has 1880 registered offspring which are Hanoverian branded. Twenty-three sons are licensed and there are 514 Brentano II-broodmares registered in Germany. Brentano II's most recognizable dressage offspring is the mare Brentina, owned by Peggy and Parry Thomas, and ridden by Debbie McDonald. Brentina was named 2005 Farnam/Platform USEF Horse of the Year by USEF members and equine media representatives from five finalists representing the best of the many USEF disciplines. Brentina and McDonald led the United States to a silver medal finish at the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain, and a team bronze medal at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece. They placed third overall at the 2005 FEI World Cup Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada. Debbie McDonald describes Brentina as "The most memorable horse I've ever ridden. She loves to come to work."
Raina's dam Belana is out of the Hanoverian mare Grandessa who is by the legendary Grandeur. Already a legend during his own lifetime, Grandeur won the German Jumping Derby in Hamburg, the most difficult course in the world, three times between 1986 and 1992 under his permanent rider Thomas Frühmann. Grandeur is one of the most successful competition sports stallions of the world from today's perspective, with far in excess of Euro 766,938 life winnings. His successes include World Cup successes in Hertogenbosch, Bordeaux, Paris, Güteborg and London, Grand Prix's and Nation's Cups in London, Rome, Rotterdam, Stuttgart, Vienna, Wiesbaden, Bremen, Calgary and Aix la Chapelle and two wins in the German Grand Prix in Berlin. The absolute breeding breakthrough for Grandeur came with his daughter Gladdys (dam by Apart), who won the gold medal at the 2001 European Championships under Ludger Beerbaum.
