Razz is a 5-year-old 18-hand Gelding by Harmony’s Rousseau out of a Rubenstein mare with a personality as sweet, focused and affectionate as they come! He does not act like a big horse; he has excellent ground manners and follows you like a puppy!
Dressage is all about harmony with your horse, and what looks more relaxed and supple than a horse with floppy ears! He is light in the bridle with a responsive connection, and as he continues to get stronger his gaits will become more and more expressive!
His owner purchased Razz as a quality foal with international championship bloodlines and a super disposition, yet she is a petite rider who does not look in harmony with a large horse. After the difficult decision to sell Razz, she sent him to USDF Gold medalist and Centerline Scores 5-star-rated trainer Petra Warlimont, among the top young horse professionals in the country. Petra was born and started her training career in Germany, and has qualified a record number of horses at all ages and levels to the prestigious Markel Young Horse and Developing Horse Championships in Chicago.
Razz’s personality, comfortable gaits, focus on his rider, relaxed ears, and exceptional temperament make him suitable for an Adult Amateur or JR/YR to bring this young horse up the levels. In fact the day of filming his sale production was the day before an April 2016 blizzard dumped 17 inches of snow in Evergreen, CO. Most young horses are extra spooky when a storm is coming in. Razz went outside and right to work, even as Petra's dog roamed around the hill next to the arena!
Razz’s sire, Harmony’s Rousseau, has earned an impressive list of awards, including a Silver Medal at the 2003 World Championships for Young Horses
* Performance Test: Champion Dressage Stallion of KWPN Performance Test, Ermelo 2001
* Stallion Licensing: 2001 KWPN Premium Ring and top selling stallion of the show. No stallion before him had produced two consecutive champions of the KWPN Stallion Licensing, yet he sired not just two, but three consecutive licensing champions: Wamberto in 2006, Blue Hors Zack in 2007 and Ampere in 2008.
* Won the prestigious Pavo Cup in the Netherlands.
*At 5 years old, Rousseau was the silver medalist of the 2003 FEI World Championships for Young Horses in Verden, Germany.
* Harmony's Rousseau is a coveted 1998 KWPN "Keur" stallion (Ferro-Zsuzsa, Roemer).
Harmony's Rousseau is known around the world for the remarkable success of his sons and daughters in breeding, as well as in sport. Rousseau is now retired from active breeding, and a very limited amount of his frozen semen remains, making Rousseau offspring even more valuable.
Here is an opportunity to own a very well-bred, well-handled, well-started young horse that will bring a smile to your face every day in the barn, training in the ring, or as you start showing down centerline!
