Rumba – “Ruby” is a beautiful 5 y.o. bay Oldenburg mare bred for the amateur in mind by the stallion Rubignon. She has an extremely sweet and loving disposition and is an “in your pocket” type of horse. She is very laid back and quiet, super sensible and a joy to have at the barn. She is always the first to greet you at the gate and loves to be with her people. She is not spooky and can have more whoa than go. With 3 wonderful and correct fluid gaits she has not been pushed, as she is a nice big bodied girl at 16.2 h, and given the time when needed to grow. She is the perfect opportunity for a young rider or an amateur in a program to continue to bring along or a dream mare to produce down the road.
Ruby has been ridden by her adult amateur owner and has been in professional lessons and training her entire life. She is solid training level and currently schooling, shoulder ins, leg yields, and canter shallow loops. She did not show this year unfortunately due to owner’s financial constraints; but has been hauled multiple times and handles everything like an old pro. Ruby has no health or maintenance issues, she loads easy, hauls like a gem, stands for the Ferrier and has impeccable ground manners. We have clean x-rays on file from 2019. Ruby is turned out all day and stalled at night; she is a mild cribber.
She is being offered at no fault of her own, Covid-19 has put a financial strain on the owner’s small business and extremely difficult decisions had to made. Ruby is a true unicorn and a “forever horse” and a good home is an absolute must and we will be picky where this stellar mare goes.
