Rio is a gorgeous US bred 8 year old gelding with a thick flowing mane and tail and a huge kind eye. He is an Azteca - a breed created to combine the best of two worlds - the beautiful elegance of the Lusitano, and the steady, workmanlike attitude of the American Quarter Horse.
Rio has three good gaits and will do very well in dressage. He really gets into his work and likes the challenges of more difficult work. Loves lunging and would be suitable for lunge lessons. He is very comfortable and willing. More suited to a confident rider. No buck, rear, or bolt, just has to take his confidence and direction from his rider. Ridden on a regular basis by our student, and works in a 25 acre field.
He has done a little work bit-less and is calm and happy with that. He has not had much mileage on trails, and is happier with another horse, but is safe and not spooky.
He likes attention and being pampered. He will make a truly lovely partner for the right person!
