Salish PF is a 5 year old, 16hh imported Canadian sport horse mare by Parcival out of Haida GS by Ferrari GS. Salish is a sweet, sensible girl who is just getting started in her riding career. She had one foal for her breeder last year and was started under saddle this past spring. She has been an excellent student, willing and honest to bring along and has proven to have a wonderful brain from the get go. Salish has a solid base on the flat with three comfortable, nicely balanced gaits. She has a soft mouth and is supple and relaxed through her body. She’s still green and working on the basics but has given glimpses of what’s to come as she continues to gain strength and education. Salish has been trail ridden and hacked in the field regularly since shortly after being started and is quiet and confident out and about. She’s sure footed and balanced over varied terrain and not a spooky type. Salish was just recently introduced to some jumping with a handful of jump schools under her belt. She’s done a bit of cavaletti and grid work, a few small logs in the field, and just started schooling her first baby courses. She jumped all the looky fillers first try without batting an eye and keeps the same quiet temperament and steady rhythm working over fences. She has an easy, clean lead change both directions when asked. Salish is absolute more of a push ride, but not overly lazy.

In the barn you couldn’t ask for a sweeter girl. She absolutely loves attention and spending time with her people. She’s quiet on the cross ties, loves to be groomed, with no grouchiness tacking up. She bathes, loads easily, and is good for the vet and farrier. Salish is currently living out 24/7 and loves her turnout time, but is also good in the stall. She’s vice free, passed a basic PPE with no concerns when we purchased her unstarted in February, and has no history of any health or soundness issues. She’s got massive sturdy feet, remaining barefoot until recently when we added front shoes as her work load increased. She’s a big, sturdy, correct girl who looks like she’s made to last.
Salish has been given a well rounded base with potential to continue on in absolutely any direction. With her quiet mind and willing attitude she’ll no doubt be suitable for an AA or junior. That being said, at this point she is still green enough she’ll be best suited for a rider capable and confident enough to bring along a green horse.
