Saphira is a 7 year old 15.3 hand Andalusian/Friesian/QH. (Has a certificate with the Friesian Heritage Horse and Sporthorse International and DNA testing, which was all negative for known frieisian problems).
She has literally one of the best brains that I have ever run across in my training career. She is a TRIER. She NEVER says no. She's a worker bee. She's sensitive and goes forward willingly but she's not hot or intimidatingly fast. She knows her stuff (schooling 2nd), and she likes to work and just knocks it out consistently. Comfortable gaits, easy lateral work. Does not need whip or spurs. Just quietly suggest things and she does them. She is sensitive and gets her confidence from her rider. If you tell her it's okay, she'll believe you and would literally ride through a hail storm for you. (Been there, we done that). However, if you are worried or scared yourself, she will also believe you and feel the same way. She is not naturally confident, and she does spook, even though the obstacle portion of the video shows how solid she can be when her rider is there for her. Consequently not for a timid rider. No buck, no rear, nothing naughty. Just needs a rider who can tell her it's all okay. Honestly, when you can be that person for her, it's kind of adorable and endearing because she is SO genuinely comforted and empowered by it.
Great feet. Has always been barefoot. Sound and no vices. Sweet on the ground and under saddle. Not mareish.
