Laurel Farms is proud to offer for sale our newest filly, Sapho LF! She has very correct confirmation, lovely jumper shoulder, with a powerful hind end and the classic feminine head. Sapho is one the smartest foals you will ever meet, naturally balanced and forward moving. She trailers, stand for farrier, handles shots and deworming like and expert and leads extremely well. She is brave and thoughtful, and will be weaned at the end of October. She has been registered and branded as Hanoverian; with the judge boasting about her carefulness of step, confirmation, natural elasticity, suspension, femininity, and energy.

Her dam, Reprise BPF, or “Sparrow” as we call her in the barn, has impeccable breeding, movement, and the sweetest mind one could ask for. She is lean, on the smaller modern and feminine type side, and a very flashy mover with a lot of natural elasticity and freedom of shoulder. Sparrow is a 2011 dark bay Hanoverian who has already had two lovely foals, one from Qredit and one from Don Prinicipe. She was started in dressage, showing in intro and getting in the high 70’s numerous times but then an injury caused her competition career to be canceled. She has been x-rayed showing no OCD in her hocks and does great barefoot. Luckily, she also passes on her movement, sound mind, eloquent face, and confirmation on to her offspring. Sparrow boasts Rubignon, out of Rubinstein on her sires side and on her dams side she has high caliber genes coming from Wallstreet Kid. All her offspring will be guaranteed to be exceptional dressage or jumping mounts.

Sapho's sire is Sir Gregory, the infamous chestnut stallion who excels in the dressage ring and has a long line of proven offspring. His lineage boasts just as large names as Sparrows, including Donnerhall and Sandro Hit. He was the winner of his 30 day test with an overall score of 8.85, with 9.08 in the dressage phase and 8.35 in the jumping phase. Sir Gregory is a very modern type stallion, of striking good-looks, with a beautiful head and neck. He has very correct conformation, his gaits are powerful, with a lot of elasticity, very good use of the hind leg, and he already shows a very good ability to collect. Sir Gregory also has a very good temperament, he is kind, smart and learns quickly, this goes hand and hand with his high rideability.

Laurel Farms prides itself on breeding for athleticism and companionship and we could not be more excited about continuing this legacy with this current foal. We handle our foals from day one, and they get as much time outside playing, as stall time with their dam. This way they get used to being in a show barn atmosphere, while being handled constantly in a positive and routine manner.
