Sateen is a third level dressage horse that is schooling fourth level. Due to an infection in 2008 that she had in her front fetlock, she is now intermittently lame from reduced cartilage space and bony changes on the margins of the joint. I am selling her as a broodmare that can be ridden if someone wants to manage the lameness.

She is well bred and has a lovely personality. She requires an experienced handler and rider as she is very aware of her surroundings. She has impeccable ground manners and has no vices, but if she gets nervous, she becomes high headed and snorts. This intimidates a beginner handler.

For someone interested in the riding part, I have been riding her daily. Some days she is pretty sound, some days she is not. I have been riding her in clinics and is a great horse for that as she is so talented, therefore can work on the upper movements. We will continue to show this summer. When she is right, she is one of the nicest horses I have ever sat on. She is notoriously sensitive to ride. A light, steady, good rider can get a lot out of her. A less educated rider will find that she is a tricky ride. She is a big, fantastic mover. She is schooling tempi changes now, and already has a nice clean change both directions. So, if one doesn't mind if she off on some day (ride her anyhow), and sounder on other days, then she can be a great schoolmaster.
