SF Southern Comfort is a modern and sporty performance prospect sired by one of the top-ranked jumper sires in Germany, from an excellent, top-producing mare-line - a very special 3 year old jumper prospect, just started in professional training.
SF Southern Comfort has been professionally handled from birth, and has grown up with an ideal combination of athletic freedom on 4,000 acres of hills and valleys, and time spent in the barn learning. He is currently living in a stall and run, is up to date on farrier, vaccinations and deworming, and ready to start training
Solomon Farm has bred many top performers and has alumni all over North America.
Southern Comfort's sire Stakkato Gold reached international recognition in shows and as a sire while still a young stallion. He was the best jumper stallion at the Hanoverian licensing in Verden in 2003. He again proved his outstanding talent for jumping at the 30-day test in Prussendorf in 2004 where he was awarded the maximum score of 10.0 several times. In his very first show season in 2005, Stakkato Gold won and placed with the best in tests for young show jumpers up to elementary (L) level. He continued in 2006, again winning or placing near the top up to medium (M) level and qualified for the Bundeschampionat. He is now highly successful in advanced (S***) level. In 2009 he won the Final of the Youngster Tour in Neumünster under Jan Sprehe and placed at many competitions.
After his first son Seal has been licensed, Stalido and Self Control were licensed too. Solid Gold, who was licensed in 2013, is now stationed at stud Zangersheide. His offspring from the first crops is now found very often in show jumping and many of them win in tests for young show jumpers, whereby some also qualified for the Bundeschampionat. In the meantime, a large number of the offspring are now found winning in advanced (S) level show jumping. That got Stakkato Gold off to a great start as a sire: In the German FN's predicted breeding value statistics 2012, he has a sensational index of 166 points, ranking third among all German stallions. In 2013 he still improved this position and passed with 169 points even his sire.
Stakkato Gold also has an elite pedigree on his dam's side as well: the tried and true, all-round sire, Werther, follows the successful international jumper sire (Achill-) Libero H and the famous sire of Contender, Calypso II, rounds off this top pedigree.
SF Southern Comfort's dam Leda is out of our grand old mare Summit Peak, who has produced two stallions, as well as her most famous offspring, the Grand Prix star Sympa, a Zweibrucker mare by the Holsteiner stallion Sabotage, ridden by Daniel Geitner.
Southern Comfort's movement is free floating, and his canter is particularly excellent, with superb flying changes. And his free jump is scopey, lofty and utterly effortless- he makes any size free jump look like a cross rail. This young gelding is truly a top prospect for the jumper ring or eventing. His potential is huge, and the promise of his genetics unmistakeable.
Southern Comfort has always been 100% sound and healthy and current on farrier, dental, vaccinations and deworming. Please feel free to call with any questions - 605-685-3089 Ann, or our trainer Martijn Stuurman at 508-560-1813.
