2011 Gelding. Registered Oldenburg GOV. By Sonntagskind/Sandro Hit and out of Trakener mare, Zejaluna/Palmenhain.
As a weanling, Shamus was USDF All Breeds National CHAMPION Colt DSHB. In 2016, he was USDF All Breeds National CHAMPION Materiale 4&5YO Satllion/Gelding. Materiale scores as high as 81.5%. Also as a 5yo, he qualified for Region 1 GAIG Championships at Tr-lvl, and qualified for Region 1 CBLM Championships at Tr-lvl & 1st-lvl. 2016 record shows Tr-lvl scores as high as 74.4% & 1st-lvl scores as high as 71.5%. Shamus earned High Score Old/GOV Award at every show offered. Since he is so rideable at shows and has clearly successful show mileage, we made the decision in 2017 to fully focus on his training. Currently he is star-competition ready 2nd-lvl and fairly solid in 3rd-lvl lateral movements. His changes were started in 2017 and show great ease and potential, but we backed off to focus on adjustability/quality of the gait and strength building. The passage & piaffe ability is there! We are being careful not to push this talented horse too quickly -- he is just too special!! Because of his active hind leg in all 3 gaits, Shamus shows great promise to continue moving up the levels and onto FEI status. His last show summary comment read "Talented pair that is destined for the FEI ring!" This elegant/leggy/modern horse is elastic and light and has caught the eye of numerous high level judges and trainers. Very loving personality that wants to please his rider. Don't delay interest in this HONEST & SAFE horse! Shamus has a complete history of good health and soundness -- we expect smooth sailing in a PPE!
