3 Diamonds Farm is proud to present for a client: Sherman! He is a lovely, almost five year old, 16.1hh Percheron cross gelding. Don’t let his summer sun bleaching fool you, he is a stunning black beauty with a pretty white star. Great confirmation, bone structure, and the kindest eye! Sourced by our client to be a project and sales horse, Sherman is a fantastic prospect for dressage, eventing, trail riding, foxhunting, and so much more! Sherman is a draft cross, half Percheron with the remaining half likely being a mix of Morgan and Quarter Horse. He is beautifully put together and can easily be registered as an American Warmblood.

Sherman is quiet, easygoing, and very safe. As bombproof as a coming five year old can be, nothing fazes him. With lots of trail riding experience, he absolutely loves it, handling all trail obstacles, including water and logs with ease. Happy to lead or follow, or head out on solo adventures. In fact, he is so quiet, he serves as babysitter to older horses. Sherman has ponied other horses, kept them company on outings, and served as trailer buddy. A very old soul with a great brain, who does not act like an almost five year old at all. His current farm even has some low hanging power lines over his outdoor ring that produce a loud humming sound and he could care less! No buck. No bolt. No spook. No funny business. Calm and kind. A forgiving ride that would suit a number of riders and riding styles. Perfect for an ammy, but definitely special enough for a professional too. A really gentle giant; a peach of a horse!

Sherman is an incredible all around horse. He is triple trained in English, western, and driving (both single and team)! While green, Sherman is currently in full training for dressage, eventing, and foxhunting, and advancing really quickly. His flatwork is coming along nicely, as he is improving under saddle every day. He has started jumping and is really loving it. He keeps a lovely pace whether jumping or flatting. He recently went cross country schooling and rocked it like an old pro. He went through water, out in the open by himself, and jumped a bunch of logs. He will be heading out showing, foxhunting, and also to a few hunter paces very soon!

In the barn, Sherman is just easy, easy, easy! He has a sweetheart personality. Sherman will meet you at the gate! He absolutely loves attention and being groomed. Hops right on the trailer for all his adventures, even helping to calm other horses on the trailer. Stands perfectly at the mounting block, recently helping a timid and anxious rider feel right at ease. Stands nicely on the cross ties. Loves to get a bath. Perfect for the farrier and vet. No vices and no prep needed. The same horse whether he works every day or has a few days off. Flawless ground manners and a very easy keeper. Great in any turnout group, whether turned out twenty-four seven or in a stall. No maintenance except two front shoes. Sherman is also happy to go barefoot, only needing front shoes right now as Virginia is in drought conditions with rock hard ground. Up to date on everything, including vaccines, coggins, dental, and deworming. He goes nicely in just a plain snaffle, whether flatting or jumping.

Sherman is looking to find his own person or family that wants a safe, quiet, and talented horse for dressage, eventing, trail riding, or foxhunting. He would make the best all-around mount, as he could go in a number of different directions in his riding career. He is also quiet enough for hunters or vaulting. Sherman would be happy to be a lesson, therapy, husband, or guest horse too. But with his driving training, he is ready to pull a carriage or join a wagon team!
