With So Unique, his name says it all – not only in terms of his sporting career, but also in his hereditary performance. The Hanoverian and Danish premium stallion, Verden stallion market top price, stallion performance test winner, German Champion and champion of the first edition of the final of four-year-olds at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in 2019 in Ermelo/NED transmits his own special aura to his foals. His foals also impress with a lot of power, strong backs, the desired freedom of the shoulders and an exceptional, calm character.
In 2020, So Unique won the qualifier for the German Championships for five-year-old dressage horses with Eva Möller. For all three paces, submission and overall impression, he received the fantastic score of 9.0. In the final, he could not quite match this performance and finished tenth with an overall score of 8.1 (walk: 9.5). So Unique was selected to represent Germany at the World Championships for young dressage horses, which had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
His sire Sezuan was World Champion of the five, six and seven-year-old dressage horses and belongs, without a doubt, to the most demanded dressage stallions of the present. With his rider Dorothee Schneider, he won international competitions up to Inter I. Since then, he has been trained up to Grand Prix level with Patrik Kittel/SWE. On the breeding scene, the Danish Champion Stallion, record stallion performance test winner and Danish Dressage Champion also dominates all events. He sired our two-time record stallion performance test winner, Sezuan’s Donnerhall, the Vice World Champion and German Champion of young dressage horses, Secret, the bronze medallist at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses, Queenparks Wendy with Andreas Helgstrand/DEN, and our Oldenburg Reserve Champion Stallion So Perfect, to name just a few highlights.
The dam St.Pr.St. Daiquiri, herself a winner in tests for young horses, is a half-sister of the licensed stallions St. Petersburg (by Sandro Bedo) and Quaterbend Ymas (by Quaterback), of the mare Doris Day K (by De Niro), who produced the licensed stallion Sir Stanislaus (by Sandro Hit), who was successful up to Inter I, of the mare Dynasty (by De Niro), who produced the licensed stallion Scolari (by Sandro Hit) and a stallion by Bonifatius, and of the mare Daylight (by De Niro), who produced the licensed stallion Flanell (by Fidertanz) and Fats Domino (by Fidertanz)/Fabienne Müller-Lütkemeier, victorious at Grand Prix level. Daiquri also produced Havanna II (by Hotline), who was placed up to Inter I. Daiquiri’s sisters’ daughters produced the licensed stallions Le Vivaldi I and II (both by Vivaldi) and Quattroporte (by Quantensprung).
His dam’s sire Donnerhall counts as one of the most important line founders of current times. He was double World Champion with Karin Rehbein, has produced over 120 licensed stallions and over 275 state premium mares and the lifetime earnings of his progeny amount to over 3.22 million euros.
Also in the third generation, the Celle stud’s Weltmeyer is a foundation stallion of special quality, who has significantly marked this stallion with regard to his impressive charisma. Weltmeyer was Vice German Champion, winner of his licensing and stallion performance test as well as DLG champion. Amongst his over 100 licensed sons appear several licensing winners, German Champions and stallion performance test winners.
His great-grand-dam Geranie has produced the two licensed stallions Aleman (by Akzent II) and Worldman (by Weltmeyer). Her daughter Avignon (by Akzent II) has produced the licensed stallions Belfort G (by Brentano II) and Regazotti (by Rohdiamant), as well as St.Pr.St. Gardenia (by Grafenburg), who in turn produced Rhodes Scolar (by Rohdiamant), who was internationally successful up to Inter I. Through her daughter Pikobella (by Prestige Pilot), Geranie is the grand-dam of the stallion quartet Balance of Power, Barclay I and II (all by Belissimo M) and Fengari (by Fürstenball). Geranie also produced St.Pr.St. Weltina (by Weltmeyer), who produced the 2008 World Champion of young dressage horses, Dramatic (by Don Frederico)/Jana Freund, and bred to Rousseau, the licensed stallion Fürst Rousseau.
So Fine HW's dam sire is Fidermark , one of the key players in the dissemination of the F line blood of the Selle Français import, Furioso II - and this F line is one of the most important in dressage to-day. Taking a look at the top 20 dressage stallions in the 2021 Hanoverian Stallion book, we find seven descend from Furioso II, all of them via his grandson, Florestan (Fidelio / Rheingold), with two more sitting in 21st and 22nd. Fidermark is himself the sire of the 17th ranked For Complement, while one of the very hot competition and breeding stallions right now, Foundation, is by the Fidermark son, Fidertanz, and Fidertanz himself occupies 22nd place on the Hanoverian rankings. Right from the start, the Florestan son, Fidermark was a star. He was the reserve champion of the 1994 Westphalian Stallion licensing, and then the following year, was the winner of the Performance Test with 141.74 points at Warendorf, and the year after that he won the four-year-old stallion class at the Bundeschampionate. He achieved all this with the Westphalian state stud rider, Michael Farwick. When some of the Westphalian stallions went to train with German dressage trainer, Johan Hinnemann, the ride on Fidermark was given to the 23-year-old Dutch rider, Marlies Van Baalen, daughter of Coby van Baalen, a long time rider with Hinnemann. It was about this time that the joke went round, what do the letters, NRW (the correct abbreviation for the breeding area North Rhine-Westphalia) stand for? Netherlands Riding Westphalians, came the answer… Fidermark's dam, Watonga is by the Hanoverian 'trot maker' Werther. Mated with Power she produced Palegro, a licensed stallion who represented Westphalia at the German Show jumping championships. With Marlies van Baalen in the saddle, Fidermark qualified for the 2000 Nürnberger Burgpokal Finals, and went on to compete at Grand Prix level. Fidermark died in August 2003 but in his way-too-short period of time at stud, produced an astonishing number of excellent progeny - stamping himself as the best son of Florestan.
Fidermark produced 39 licensed sons, including Fürst Piccolo, the Westphalian licensing winner in 1999, and performance test winner the following year and Feinsinn, who topped the performance test in 1999 (and with Carolin van der Linde, was a member of the German Gold medal winning team at the 2006 European Young Riders Championship). The Hanoverian branded Falsterbo has started competing in Grand Prix dressage after successful appearances on the small tour. Despite attracting a relatively small number of mares, Falsterbo entered the Hanoverian dressage stallion top rankings in 2008, with a dressage index of 120. Falsterbo was sold to the United States where he died in 2012 but he left behind in Germany, Dorothee Schneider's up-and-coming Grand Prix competitor, Faustus, he was added tot he German Olympic squad in 2019. Another son, Fiano won the 2002 performance test with one of the highest indices ever - and then there are the four Farewell brothers. Farewell I was licensed in 2000 and since then has produced four li-censed sons; Farewell II, was the Premium stallion in 2001; Farewell III won the 2007 Six Year old dressage championship at the Bundeschampionate, after being 2nd in the 3 year old stallion class, 4th in the Four year olds, and a finalist in the 5 Year Old Dressage class. Farewell IV was licensed in 2003; Fidertanz won the 2004 Westphalian stallion licensing, and then the performance test, and was reserve champion at the Bundeschampionate. Fidertanz was also just named Hanoverian horse of the year 2021!
Fidermark's gelding son Fürst Fabio won the 3-year old championship at the Bundeschampionate before moving to the United States with his owner, Cesar Parra… but not before Hubertus Schmidt, who trained the horse, said he was the best he had ridden.
