Sophia was bred in Germany, by the great Russian jumping stallion, Heops, out of the Kostolany daughter Salva Venia. Sophia was bred in Germany and came to the United States as a weanling, and was raised here. She lived outside for three winters she is very hardy and healthy. She has a sweet attentive personality, and is solid and enthusiastic in the jump chute.

Sophia started to be ridden in spring 2010. We started her slowly with lunging, lots of field/hill rides, and basic flat work to develop her muscles.

In the summer of 2011 we started to jump her over little obstacles. She loves this new routine in her work and goes fearlessly over gates, hunter boxes and any type of colored poles.

This mare’s strength, great frame and jumping heritage make her a natural long term prospect as a solid amateur riding horse or a jump-oriented brood mare.
