Sparty is trained in dressage, but he is bred to jump! I put him out in turnout, and he started jumping for fun! I raised the jumps and he just loves going over them. I have no interest to jump, but I think this horse something special over fences.
July- Sparty traveled to Aiken, SC for a two week trip, it was a 9 hour trailer ride by himself each way. He competed at his second USDF show, earning scores to 69.4% in Training level test 3, winning both of his Open classes, and he was Reserve High Score! He is qualified for Region 3 Championships.
June-Attended his first USDF level 3 recognized show, scoring a 71.55% in Training level test 2, and a 70.0% in Training level test 3! He traveled 4.5 hours by himself each way, and was relaxed in the stable. This was a larger venue, and he put in a super effort.
2023: Sparty started competing dressage at Training level and finished the season at First level, at schooling shows. He has scores to 73.9%! Earning 5 scores over 70% in 2023.
October: Competed First level with solid scores to 66%, his first time out.
August: Training level test 2, he scored an impressive 73.97%! Training level test 3, scored a 70.4%! Winning both of his classes! He scored an impressive 8.5 for gaits, and an 8 for impulsion, in the collective marks. He had many 8's throughout the test, and the judges comments, "talented horse." He worked out of my trailer, was relaxed and focused at the show. He seemed to enjoy the show environment.
July: Competed Training level test 2, 70.52%, and Training level test 3, 70.6%! Scored 7.5 for gaits, and earned 8's for his trot to canter transitions. Traveled 2 hours each way for the show, was a pleasure to handle and ride. Judges comments, "lots of potential." He was the high score horse of the show!
June: Competed Training level test 2 and 1 with solid results of 67.58% and 66.5%. He scored 8 for canter circle, and many 7.5 for trot to canter transitions. Scored 7.5 for gaits! Comments were, “beautiful horse, very promising.” He won both of his Open classes. His first show was in March 2023: Intro with 71.6%. The judges comments were, “lovely horse with a good start.” He scored an 8 for gaits.
He is a light horse to ride, with three uphill gaits. He is showing First level and training Second level at home.
Sparty has a big personality, but he really wants to be your best friend. He will nicker at me when I arrive at the stable, and gently nickers when passing his stall throughout the day. He is a happy horse, who wants to please. He loves to be groomed, he loves attention, great for baths and clippers, on his body or on his face and ears. He loads, trailers well in all types of trailers.
He is stabled on a military base. The base stables are very close to the fighter jet runways, and he is very good with loud jets and airplanes overhead. He lives in a stall and run, he gets out daily, but he does not have a large daily turnout pasture. He seems to be fine with this arrangement, but I am sure he would love a home with additional turnout time.
Currently on monthly Adequan for general maintenance, but always sound to ride.
He is lifetime registered with USDF, and current USEF.
