I am traveling to Aiken, SC around January 1- 5, 2024. I have the ability to bring Sparty up to try, if there is any interest. The first trot photo was taken when a friend rode Sparty last week, it was her first ride on him. She finished with going out in the field and went over an up and down jump, and rode over cross country logs. Although Sparty is schooling second level dressage, he has all the ability to event or jump.
This is a horse with the talent for the FEI levels! Beautiful, light, elegant horse.
Sparty attended his first show at First level test 1 and 2! He put in a very good first effort, scores from a tough judge, 65.6%. Video below.
On August 5, Sparty showed Training level test 2, he scored an impressive 73.97%, and in Training level test 3, scored a 70.4%! Winning both of his classes! He scored an impressive 8.5 for gaits, and an 8 for impulsion, in the collective marks! He had many 8's throughout the test, and the judges comments, "talented horse." Sparty worked out of my trailer, was relaxed and focused at the show. He seemed to really enjoy being in the show environment.
On July 29, Sparty competed in Training level test 2, 70.52%, and Training level test 3, 70.6%! Scored 7.5 for gaits, and earned 8's for his trot to canter transitions. Sparty traveled 2 hours each way for the show, was a pleasure to handle and ride. Judges comments, "lots of potential." He was the high score horse of the show!
Sparty attended his first overnight schooling show in June, competed Training level test 2 and 1 with solid results of 67.58% and 66.5%. He scored 8 for canter circle, and many 7.5 for trot to canter transitions. Scored 7.5 for gaits! Comments were, “beautiful horse, very promising.” He won both of his Open classes.
He attended his first show in March, and he won his Intro class with a 71.6%. The judges comments were, “lovely horse with a good start.” He scored an 8 for gaits.
I have owned Sparty since he turned 3 years old. I have taken my time to make sure that all groundwork is solid, and that he is relaxed, supple, and listening and responding correctly to the riders aids under saddle. He is a light horse to ride, with three quality gaits, and a super canter! He is showing First level and schooling Second level at home. I will start on his changes this fall/winter.
Sparty enjoys free jumping. He has jumped back and forth through the jump chute, just for fun. He has the desire to look for a jump and go for it.
Sparty has a big personality, but he really wants to be your best friend. He will nicker at me when I arrive at the stable, and gently nickers when passing his stall throughout the day. He is a happy horse, who wants to please. He loves to be groomed, he loves attention, great for baths and clippers, on his body or on his face and ears. He loads, trailers well.
Sparty is stabled on a military base. The base stables are very close to the fighter jet runways, and he is very good with loud jets and airplanes overhead. He lives in a stall and run for the past three years, he gets out daily, but he does not have a large daily turnout pasture. He seems to be fine with this arrangement, but I am sure he would love a home with additional turnout time.
The summer of 2022, I took Sparty by himself on a 9 hour (each way) trip to Aiken, SC for one week. He traveled great, he stood quietly in the trailer throughout the trip, even as we waited for an hour for an accident to clear on the highway. While he was in Aiken, he enjoyed turnout time, and rode in a nearby dressage arenas with mirrors, jump arenas, went on small trail rides.
I have given Sparty a solid foundation, and he is ready to continue his training to FEI! He would be great for a young professional to train through the levels, or an amateur/junior with some riding experience. Lots of talent in this horse! Sound, no maintenance. Willing and trainable horse.
