3 Diamonds Farm is proud to present for a client: Srivijaya! Fondly known as Java in the barn, this adorable 4 year old, 16.1hh bay Kentucky bred Thoroughbred gelding is incredibly kind and sweet. Java comes from impressive lines with his sire being Pioneer of the Nile, his grand sire being Empire Maker, and his great grand sire being Unbridled. On his dam’s side, he has very sporty lines going all the way back to the great Secretariat. With such an incredible pedigree, it’s no wonder Java sold as a yearling for $200,000! Java only raced one time, in June of 2023, at Laurel Park, and was incredibly slow. Sourced to be a sales horse right off the track, Java has been let down, restarted, and is enjoying his new job of the last year as a lovely sport horse.
Java is currently an event horse in training with the most quiet and bombproof disposition. He is going nicely walk, trot, and canter under saddle with comfortable gaits. More of a push ride feel, but responsive to the aids, Java has actually taught beginner up/down lessons like a seasoned lesson horse. Java is also learning how to jump and is schooling small little courses, roughly 2’ and under, with ease (and with scope for more in the future). He is brave with filler and has even jumped blue barrels. He is happy to hack out alone or in a group. And often times, his adventures take him over to neighboring farms, where he has to hack down busy roads with semi-trucks and motorcycles that fly right past! Java is also the only horse that can work in the arena while the large and loud tractor drags! In addition, his farm is a very busy place with goats, sheep, dogs, and lots of other action too. Nothing fazes this horse! He is so quiet and easygoing.
While Java hasn’t competed yet, he will continue in training with many adventures planned until sold. Just recently, Java went cross country schooling for the first time and then a second time at a different venue. He was an absolutely star each time! He did water, ditches, logs, and banks, all while other horses were galloping around, just like he was an old pro. Java is the same horse with days off and doesn’t need a profession program as he would be easy for an ammy or young rider to produce. He is the same horse on adventures as he is at home. Java would suit a number of different riders really well too. From a family wanting an all-around horse, to an ammy or teen looking for their first horse, or even younger riders needing the safest of mounts. Java would do well in a career as an eventer or jumper or anything in-between, and with someone that enjoys trail rides and hacks too. But he is so quiet, he would easily change careers and maybe step into the hunter ring or do dressage. While Java may not have the movement to make it to the Olympics, he is an incredibly lovely horse that would take care of his rider in any situation. And he has really nice gaits, making him quite easy to ride.
Java is the most kind and sweet pet in the entire barn! He loves attention and grooming. He has perfect ground manners and stands perfectly on the cross ties, on the trailer, and at the mounting block. Perfect for the vet and farrier. Easy to groom, tack, bathe, and ship. He has very good feet and only wears four shoes. Great and easy in his turnout group, currently living out 24/7, but happy in a stall too. No maintenance and up to date on everything, including dental, coggins, and shots. With such a lovely, easy, and bombproof horse does come one flaw/vice. He is a cribber and it is controlled with a cribbing strap. Java’s feeding routine has also been adjusted to where and how he is fed and that is actually changing the behavior as well. But if his new home has electric fencing, he won't crib one bit. So, if that is a deal breaker, Java would not be the one for you. Java also has a clean vetting on file.
If you are looking for that incredibly bombproof unicorn, Java is the one you having been dreaming of! You only have to be accepting of the fact that he is a cribber, but otherwise, he is safe, safe, safe! He is such a wonderful all-around horse for trails, dressage, eventing, and anything you hope to achieve with your new horse. He is literally perfect in every other way. So quiet and kind, and ready to find his new person. For more information and videos, and to set up a time to meet Java, please contact 3 Diamonds Farm at [email protected].
Java is located at a private farm in Clarke County, Virginia.
