If you've been searching for a palomino warmblood for dressage or jumping, we have your horse! Starboy is Jamaican slang for rock star and he is ready to be your dressage rock star. He is turning out to be a lovely horse, with a world of potential. Allida says, "Rarely does a horse surpass my expectations as far as this one has He's INCREDIBLE." He has good dressage movement which can be difficult to find among the palomino warmbloods of North America, as most seem to be bred for the hunter market. As Allida put it, "he has some extra gears in there."
Starboy was imported from Poland in late 2018. He was restarted by a local cowboy after import and has been doing light work with a hunter/jumper trainer. We met him through his H/J trainer and saw his potential as an all around sport horse. Though he's new to dressage, he has enough time under saddle that we consider him to be amateur safe, as long as he's kept in a program. He is forward and there's potential for power, which will serve him well as he goes up the levels but for now, he is probably too much for an an absolute beginner. We have found him to be very trainable and willing to learn.
He's a complete sweetheart and enjoys cuddling with the barn kids. If you check out our social media, especially our stories, you will often find photo and videos of him interacting with the barn kids. There's not a negative bone in his body and the only way to describe him is by saying that he has a very positive energy.
He has the makings of a very nice dressage horse but could certainly be taken back in the hunter/jumper direction. With his background in jumping, he could also be a fun eventing prospect.
Like all of our horses, SB gets trailered out for weekly trail rides. He's been totally reliable with our shifting group of 4-5 horses.
Starboy had a complete vet check when he came to us, and has recent x-rays.
