Studebaker, or Stu, is a jet-black, 4-year-old Hanoverian gelding by Sonntagskind (Sandro Hit /Donnerhall/ Rubenstein) out of a Weltmeyer mare.

Not only is he stunning, his personality and temperament make him a barn favorite. He is extremely patient, affectionate, and athletic. He is the whole package: bloodlines, personality, temperament and beautiful movement in one horse.

Stu has been in training with USDF Gold Medalist and Centerline Scores 5-star rider and trainer, Petra Warlimont, since last summer. Petra is one of the top young-horse professionals in the country, and she has developed Studebaker correctly with strong fundamentals. He is sensitive, forward and responsive. Stu really wants to please his rider.

Not only is Stu a beautiful black with a puppy-dog personality, he also has three very comfortable, lovely gaits. His canter is expressive and elastic. He has an incredible walk, and his trot is continuing to become stronger and extended as he develops.

Stu will make a great partner for an Adult Amateur or JR/YR who is looking for a sweet and handsome horse to take up the levels. He is the horse who everyone stops to admire and greet in the barn!

Studebaker’s sire, Sonntagskind, is the embodiment of three of the most famous dressage stallions: Sandro Hit, Donnerhall & Rubenstein I. He has an amazing amount of presence, huge ground-covering gaits and fantastic conformation.

Sonntagskind also has a fantastic temperament and can be handled and ridden by anyone, from discerning professionals to the most timid riders. He definitely passed this quality on to Studebaker.

Stu loads, bathes, clips, stands patiently for the farrier, and really loves to be groomed and given attention. He is also very athletic, light in the bridle, and willing to work. He is not spooky or goofy.
