Summer Cove is a lovely IDSH gelding for sale as an eventer or jumper prospect in Blacksburg, VA. With further training, Cove could also excel as an equitation horse (everyone that has had the opportunity to ride him says he has the perfect, most comfortable canter). Regardless of discipline, Cove is ready to begin his competitive career.

Summer Cove, is a 16.1/2 hh, 2009, dappled grey, IDSH (5/8th TB). He has a compact, powerful build and moderate bone. He is by I1 dressage record setter, RID with Gold Merit, Lionwood Kinsale's Lad (O'Leary's Irish Diamond, 1.37m and PSG champion in CA), and out of a money winning TB (by Pioneering out of Shareef Dancer mare).

Cove is a thinking horse, shows a good working attitude, is green but never dangerous, can take a joke and is a powerhouse. He has been ridden by multiple level riders from advanced beginner to experienced and gives everyone a good ride. He works in a french link snaffle. He has competed levels 1 and 2 jumpers at local schooling shows this past year. Cove was an absolute professional at his first outing this year! He even ribboned in a large HOF class with a simple lead change. Cove ribboned in his A-CIRCUIT debut at Lexington Spring Encore, 0.85m. Cove is WTC with simple lead changes under saddle, has free jumped up to 4'X4' oxers and is solid Training Level Dressage. Cove is schooling 3'-3'6" fences, maintenance or changing to appropriate lead over fences, is beginning to give flying changes on the straight, BN, N and some TL XC, some 1 and 2 level dressage (lengthening/collection at T and C; W->C; driving into downward transitions; shoulder in and leg yielding at the WT; 10, 15 and 20m circle work). His bending, roundness and suppleness continue to improve since his most recent videos as he is in consistent work with a professional trainer. With a competent trainer, He will certainly be Novice ready, and possibly Training Level event ready or Level 3 to 4 jumpers ready for 2014. He has Prelim+ or 1.2m + jumper potential.

Cove is up to date on all care (Rabies, R/F, EWT/WNV, Strangles, Lyme vaccination, dental care, farrier care, EIA testing, deworming). He has wonderful feet and currently works barefoot. He is easy to moderate keeping. He has a pleasant attitude in the herd (gets along with everyone) on pasture and is good in the barn.

Cove is listed for sale at $20,000, but is negotiable to the right show home.
