Valkyrie is a coming 2 year old out of a thoroughbred mare by a shire stallion. I just love her dam. She’s a moderate framed 16 hand, extremely athletic mare with a kind heart. Her sire was imported by Wareing Shires and he’s lovely. Standing at almost 18 hands with excellent conformation, he makes quite an impression. He has the most laid back attitude I’ve ever encountered. I honestly think he’d sit on the couch and eat chips with you if you’d let him.
Valkyrie really brings forward the best aspects of both parents. I anticipate she’ll reach 17 hands (measured slightly over 16 hands at 23 months) and take up a lot of rider leg. She is conformationally correct with an attractive way of going. She has always been very agreeable and learns quickly. She possesses all the skills expected from respectful young stock including standing while tied, grooming, hoof trimming, clipping, deworming and vaccinations. She is acclimated to water and has been trailered 5-7 times with other horses. She loads easily and travels well.
I believe this young mare will bring a lot of happiness to someone looking to start their own prospect. She is very amateur friendly and brings enough flash to get you noticed in whatever discipline you choose to pursue. All video footage was taken prior to winter. Valkyrie will be coming off pasture within the next month to begin 2 year old training.
