Wellington Sandro Star is stunning to look at, fun to ride, and a joy to have around the barn! He is super steady in the connection while being light in the bridle. He is forward-thinking and easy to sit, and is an ideal horse for an Adult Amateur or JR/YR to take up through the FEI levels. He has a long list of scores in the high 60’s and 70’s – including his Fourth Level test 1at 2015 Dressage for the Cure in Denver, CO., earning a 71.622 and a 70.064% in Third Level Test 3.
Sandro is in full training with nationally ranked USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold medalist Petra Warlimont. Petra was born and trained in Germany and has brought many horses up to the FEI levels with correct, confidence-building training. She has consistently qualified and competed multiple horses at the prestigious Markel Young Horse & Developing Horse Championships at Lamplight in Chicago.
Sandro’s lower price reflects two surgeries to correct a nephrosplenic entrapment – when the large colon becomes hooked over the nephrosplenic ligament. His colon remained healthy and did not need to be resected and he made a full recovery both times.
When Petra brought Sandro into her training program, she made the investment for her vet to give Sandro the procedure to close the space between the kidney and spleen to prevent this from re-occurring. As you can see from his first set of dressage scores from 2015, as well as how happy he looks in this video, Sandro is comfortable in his work and still has a super ability to do lateral work, flying changes, collect and extend his gaits.
This is a super opportunity to own a quality, well-bred horse who can be super successful in the FEI ring with a much smaller investment than most horses on the market with Sandro's quality training, temperament and age!
