Westminster Abbey is a well-bred 16.h 2011 Oldenburg mare. Abbey was given her beautiful name because she was born on the same day as the royal wedding of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and Catherine Middleton on April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey in London.

Just as prestigious as her name, Abbey comes from very impressive bloodlines. She is out of a Warkant mare (World Cup I) and her sire is Fhitzgerald Grand Sire Florencio I (by Florestan).

Abbey is a very focused athlete with great confidence for a four year old. She has FEI-quality gaits, with a canter that is uphill and should be very easy to collect. She is soft and steady in the bridle, and is relaxed and supple. She is not spooky, and her gaits get more and more expressive as she warms up into her work.

She is such a talented horse, her trainer and agent Petra Warlimont believes this is a horse that will excel quickly in a consistent program with a professional rider, a serious Adult Amateur or Young Rider. Sadly she is for sale because her owner is a busy Mom who is not able to ride every day and wants to Abbey to be trained and shown to her FEI potential.

Westminter Abbey is in full training with German-born USDF gold medalist and nationally ranked Petra Warlimont. Petra has qualified and competed a record number of horses at the Markel Young Horse and Developing Horse Championships held at Lamplight Equestrian Center. Petra is exceptional with starting and developing future FEI talent, and she thinks a lot of this horse!
