Ster PROK, IBOP, KWPN mare by Olympic Ferro

Zenda NSN, PROK, Ster, foaled April 30, 2004, is a powerful mare by Olympic Ferro out of Never Say Never, Keur Preferent. Ferro is better known as a dressage sire, but he started his career as a jumper and the jumper blood in his pedigree cannot be denied. Never Say Never has proven herself as a producer of top level jumpers. Zenda is full sister to Ulysses, who competed successfully in Brazil in the national Young Jumper Championships as a five year-old.

Zenda was awarded her PROK predicate after passing the same radiographic requirements as for KWPN approved stallions. In 2009, as a 5 year-old, Zenda was Reserve Young Jumper Champion of the KWPN-NA's Iron Spring Farm Cup as well as the jumping IBOP for North America. The year before, Zenda competed in the DG Bar Cup class for young dressage horses under saddle, wiining her class with a 70%, being ridden by an amateur rider. Zenda has been professionally trained both dressage and jumping.

This mare has been brought along carefully to accomodate her size and slower maturity. With her dressage training, this mare understands the meaning of bending, collection and contact. She is senstive to the aids and very forward. Like her sire, Zenda demonstrates a great ability to "sit". Her walk is exemplary. At her inspection, the KWPN jury gave Zenda high marks for quickness of reflexes, carefulness, scope, and rideability. Since the keuring, Zenda has continued in her training. She is a very bold and powerful mare over jumps with quick reflexes. Her willingness under saddle is exemplary. She has been hacked through the woods on her own with no issues. In early May, 2010, Zenda participated in a jumping clinic with Beth Underhill, in the 3'6" division. Although Zenda was by far the least experienced horse in her group, having never been shown, and also the youngest, she more than held her own. She was both willing and careful over the jumps, and demonstrated her excellent scope over the oxers. The remarks by Beth about Zenda's performance and ability were very positive. Zenda was introduced to competition in the summer of 2010 and won or placed in many of her classes, including the Mini Prix where she was Champion.

For 2011/12, Zenda concentrated on dressage at home. This has muscled her up considerably, improving her topline, and encouraged her to sit more on her hindquarters. Zenda has learned some patience - always important for both dressage and jumping. She is a true athlete, and shows talent for both jumping and dressage. In September, 2011, Zenda with her working student rider, participated in an Ingrid Klimke symposium. Ingrid remarked more than once what a powerful mare Zenda is, and complimented her very good hind leg. She was very pleased with Zenda's trainability, and said at the end of the ride, she only wished there was more time to work some more with this mare.

Zenda is now ready to start a serious competition career with a special show home. This mare has no known health issues or vices. Her work ethic is golden. Stall manners are excellent, and she trailers like a pro.
UPDATE 2012: In her first ever dressage show, Zenda was a pro. Not only did she win all four of her level 1 classes, but she was High Point Champion of the entire show with a score of 73.1%. Zenda repeated this performance at her second show, winning her classes and declared High Point Champion of the show. At her third and final show of the season, Zenda maintained consistency in her marks, scoring between 68%-71%, with 8 for her gaits and 7 for submission. She was Reserve Champion. This mare proves her versatility as dressage horse as well as a jumper. She has the ability and talent to progress to FEI levels in either discipline!
